I’m really trying my best to remain optimistic and hopeful for the much hyped Arena. I have no idea when this feature will launch but myself and many other feel it will be soon. What worries me is all the other stuff that also appears to be coming soon. London Districts 9 and 10 were a big deal to many players but instead of letting us enjoy them, Zynga decided to push out so many events that they became a distraction [1]. With the Arena looming in the background, it’s stressful to review the list shown below of upcoming events. It's quiet now but I feel like a bomb will go off at any time!
Here are all the other things which are probably “Coming Soon” as well. All we need is a Robbing Spree and a Gift Mastery Event to feel complete! Lets hope Zynga holds off so we can explore, learn and most importantly enjoy the Arena.

After 3 years I have at last broke my addiction but still have to drop in and see the latest zynga nonesense..ty Miss Loot Lady for your dedication/addiction...I don't know how you do it :)
ReplyDelete3 years was the magic number for me as well. That is almost the lifespan of a console gaming system, 5 years. I wonder if there is an AA group for mafia wars players. I have not logged in to Mafia Wars for 7 weeks. I was OCD about this game.... never, never, never missed a day or an event. I find myself checking this site on my days off from work. We all do things to in the pursuit of happiness. "Check yerself b4 ya reck yerself..." Are you happy or are you a slave to Zynga's mafia wars?

DeleteWhat I would really like to know is whether my Arena preview progress has been lost due to the pullback of the event before I had a chance to complete it. I've only reached Ruby level, could that mean that I wouldn't be able to participate in the Arena ? I'm pretty sure it will disadvantage me one way or another, more than just the loss of the Emerald level Abetter and the number of (possibly consumable) power cards collected.
ReplyDeletequit stressing about getting it all done and just enjoy what you can do. i for one think there isn't enough to do. i wish they would triple the amount to do so that no one could do it all. then you could just pick to do what you enjoyed most or made you stronger or whatever. if you couldn't finish all the stuff before they timed out then you could enjoy the game even more.

I really feel sorry for OCDs and completionist freaks, I have some of them in my mafia and this last year has been a chore for them. This game used to be fun, and we didn't have to drop some events to finish another. Zynga is really killing the fun from this game
Deleteno need to stress or worry or complain about stuff. Play what is fun and let it go at that. I want that raven 10x achievement and hope to get it, but I am not going to cry about all the other skill points, improved loots and whatever this new fight thing might be. Great blog for sure. Would be better with less negative chi though.

ReplyDeleteI was on vacation in Disney when all the content came out at once and funny thing...with just a little playing in the morning while my family was getting ready (maybe 20 minutes) and another 20 minutes or so in the evening, I was able to complete everything with the exception of the limited time property. I was only able to get this to level 14 but not bad. I was not able to get my 150 ices during this time but I did get the max for all the other family progression. I did wait to finish London 9 and 10 until I got home. Something had to give!
ReplyDeleteIf they roll out too much stuff like the last time, the servers will crash again and it will be Walmartville2 with account rollbacks all over the place. They haven't fixed the 1st one and I imagine they're not trying anymore.

ReplyDeleteand remember back to the days when zynga would bring out a promotion for a holiday and we would all stay online till we finished it (thinking the 4th of july stuff) and yet I can't remember the names of any of the loot and we were desperate to get even one of them
Some days when all the events hit at once its a chore to do everything now and I find myself getting more and more angry about something that is supposed to be an enjoyable game
I think everyone needs to be realistic about the time they are willing to commit as well as the resources of their character build. A level 1000 player not going to be able to do what a level a level 5000 can do. Should Z tone the the game and make it slow just so that a this can happen. For the individuals who have OCD, do you think Z needs to cater to your medical condition? Does anyone truly think that if ones misses out on event, they are automatically going to be cannon fodder? This game does not cater to the individual but to the masses and players need to realize and accept that

I mean, of course there will be event fatigue eventually, but for now your prediction is a little like the weather-person telling us it's going to rain, followed by 2 days of sunshine. Where are our events!!!? I guess you're happy, since no event fatigue, but I'm dying from boredom here.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they made me look silly at all. Everything listed there is in the servers and could be dropped at anytime. The intention of even making this post was to hope they would listen and let us learn the Arena properly without being overwhelmed by other stuff. I would like to think maybe they listened as events which should have been rolled out by now (based on patterns) haven't. You may be bored but those who can't keep up are most likely grateful. Go outside and come back when there is more to do. The rest of us will spend our free time figuring out the best strategy for a new feature. Maybe if you would contribute to the community you wouldn't be so bored.
DeleteWhat Arena would that be? It hasn't shown up on my account. And what's the big rush to learn it, anyway? This is just like complaining about the new sections in London. They can be done ANY TIME! I've been thinking of switching over to the League of Legends one of these days, or at least checking it out. Since I'm so bored I think I'll go do that now. Seriously.
