UPDATE: When returning to Mafia Wars from the Arena, the Spockholm Toolbar will now load.
Thanks to the the elaborate FAQ posted by Customer Support, there isn’t a whole lot more I can say about the Arena at this time. The most important thing to know is the Arena is separate from Mafia Wars meaning once you travel there, you leave the rest of the game behind. An unfortunate side effect is you leave your Spockholm Toolbar behind as well. If reenter the game from the Arena, you get a game without the toolbar. I’m sure there will be a workaround soon enough but for now it’s a real pain. Any scripts you are using while in the Arena will cease to work. There is a lot of waiting in the Arena. You need to wait for your room to fill and then if you run out of resources, you need to wait for the fight to end. The experience/stamina ratio is about 2.1 which isn’t the greatest. The video below is a 500 stamina Arena and I used stamina refills and a Kamikaze Power Up. It’s an excessive example of what can be done. We will have more updates on this feature as strategies are formulated.

ReplyDeleteI was attracted to Mafia wars due to it's simplicity. I know it's too early to judge but this just looks like another fluffy, gimmicky event. Yawn.... Bring back all the cities, that's why I'm here. To do jobs and fight. ~Lonnie

Reminds me of crappy games i used to have to pay a quarter to play at an arcade, or came for free on old style cell phones.
TREMENDOUS chance for Zynga to increase the fan base but seem to have blown it for vet players who may ignore it because of the useless loot and rewards.
Boss fights, crime spree, operations, etc. at least had good rewards at the start... This sucks right from the get go it seems.
Meh... who are we kidding? We'll play it anyway.
