It’s wasn’t cool when VIP subscribers were forced to migrate their billing over to Facebook [1]. Facebook proved to be an incompetent billing manager when they charged players multiple times until bank accounts were drained [1]. If that wasn’t enough to scare players, they proved their worth again when they failed to give credit for continual renewal and many did not receive their promised benefits on time [1]. Earlier today, many players received pop ups that their VIP membership benefits expired when in fact they had paid for them on time.
Those affected temporarily lost benefits but later this issue was restored as stated in the Customer Support document shown below [1]. How many errors is it going to take before Zynga realizes it’s not working and there needs to be an alternate option to pay for this program? Facebook also bans many players from making purchases. Those who have had their accounts hacked (through no fault of their own) are often banned from future purchases.
Zynga sells $25.00 Gift Cards and there is no reason they can’t let us pay for our VIP memberships with these. The responsibility of making payments on time should be left up to the players and we shouldn’t be forced into automated billing. These continued issues are causing many to give up on the program and in turn the game. The VIP Membership Program as it stands is an epic fail on the player side and as long as we keep paying for it, Zynga will not change.

DeleteI would think a lot of players would not take the chance of yearly billing, Mafia Wars might not be around then, I certainly would not be VIP if it was yearly.
That would certainly eliminate some of these issues. It would need to be an option and not mandatory as not many could part with a years worth. They should let us pay ahead and get as many months as we choose and pay for it how ever we want.

ReplyDeleteMy VIP was cancelled on the 8th of Nov and they are telling me that I was the one that went and cancelled it which I didn't and had been paying since June and they had all my payment info yet they keep saying I cancelled it..now I have to start from Bronze again
ReplyDeleteJust a quick thought for everyone to ponder ... don't you think that rather than spending your $25 each month on VIP for extra inventory .. that you rechannel this money in to property builds for skills .. because as we all know ...skills last forever .. inventory only lasts till the next release of new weapons ect ... Zynga are just doing a money grab and by people paying to play in this way not only reduces the amount of players but will eventually be the nail in the coffin for this game ... because with out players ... whom do you fight ... just a thought
ReplyDeleteIf you think about it... the 25 bucks isn't a bad deal. I buy rps on occasion and 25 bucks buys what about 100 rps if they aren't on sale about 200 if they are, vip delivers 50 every monday 4 mondays in a month sometimes 5 it's not a bad deal if they iron out the kinks
DeleteTrue ... but the thing is that it costs $300 a year to play a game that was once free for everyone .. and since the introduction of vip... the number of players is decreasing ... and what was once a matter of building skills strategically is now overtaken by how much money you want to spend ... and don't forget ..no matter how much you spend you will never be top of the heap because there is always someone out there with more money than you and this does not even take in to consideration of the glitched accounts that will take years to surpass ..if ever the only people that win out of this is ZYNGA not you or I !!!
DeleteAll is not well! I lost my +500 att and def. CS says they are working on it. I paid for it! I don't reallocate and I don't need the extra five days to build properties, so they only thing I gained was the +500 att and def, which I no longer have! I want an effing refund!!!
ReplyDeleteLike yourself (and many others), I have spent way too much money on this game. When Mafia Wars allowed Facebook to handle their billing, I canceled my VIP subscription. Utilizing Gift Cards would be a welcomed site.

ReplyDeleteHow does a person contact CS for zynga now, facebook took my money today, and now my VIP no longer says i will be Gold today, but says i am silver and stay to become gold. Also, I am missing 4 Ravens now and that aint right, i have cleared the achiement
ReplyDeleteI can't even join VIP i put my Credit Card details in click join and nothing happens i contacted Zynga they say it's a FB issue as they are now dealing with payments. But FB say it's a Zynga issue as they are not responsible for 3rd party applications. Total run-around...FUBAR ...
