Zynga is really reaching for straws with these Marketplace gimmicks. It’s always fun to see what they come with for the latest and greatest. Starter Packs and Booster Packs were just not enough so Zynga introduces the Mega Pack. The only thing “mega” I see is the price! For $99.00 you will get 1 Street Racer, 1 Spherical Mine, 260 reward points, 60 skill points, 500 Hired Guns, 4 punches on your Reward Cars and 3 Timber Crates with a twist. Upon careful examination, Mega Packs are deemed not a good deal which shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody. Even Captain Obvious is laughing at this offer!

Each Timber Crate will contain 3 items instead of 1 and they will be the same item. A total of 9 Crate items will be included in this Mega Pack. During Marketplace Promotions, 9 Crate items would cost 54 reward points.
If you factor in what you would spend for everything, you will save 44%. Unfortunately they don’t factor in reward point sales and crafting timer speed ups into their equation. They also fail to see that nobody in their right mind would ever purchase Hired Guns. Another name for them is Facebook Friends and they are free!
You would spend about $30.00 for 215 reward points when they are 40% off and even less when there is a Marketplace Promotion. Redeeming a Game Card at this time would yield the same amount of reward points for about $15.00. 60 attack, defense, stamina or energy skill points could be obtained through 10 crafting timer speed ups and that would cost 120 reward points. You could get 60 health points for only 36 reward points. That would cost about $24.00. I guess the excess would count for the loot items which we all know will become obsolete sooner rather than later.
For the just 88 cents more, you could purchase 4 months worth of the VIP Membership Program and end up with 800 reward points, +50 skill points (plus bonus rewards) and all kinds of high end loot. Zynga needs to think things through before slapping a price on what they consider a deal or at least rename the Mega Pack to Sucker Pack. Are they trying to insult our intelligence?

ReplyDeleteWell, there's a sucker born every minute and on Zynga games it's probably more like every 15 seconds.
These offers get really annoying having to look at them all the time, knowing they are the worst deal in town, but some idiots will pay and keep Zynga thinking that they came up with a good idea and will probably do it again.
I think what Zynga fails to realize, is that if they actually put out a "good deal", then tons of players would give them money for virtual goods that really have zero value.
However as usual, Zynga seems to always be absolutely clueless when it comes to knowing their players M.O..
+1 Its unbelieveable that the game is run so badly and they kill off all the features that brough people in and starngle the last few who pay to play. No wonder this game and their stock is dropping if they cant handle such a simple thing as listening to your customers instead of doing everything possible to piss the masses off lol.
ReplyDeleteEven the pod cast has nothing new game wise to get excited by as it last week under a different name yawn.
This is a "MEGA BULLSHIT PACK", zynga tried to fool us. We don't need +500 hired guns counted to buy. This offers is a TRAP, this is the WORST offer ever from zynga. Never deal with this FOOL OFFER, keep your money and choose offer carefully if you want to spend some money with this game.
ReplyDeleteONLY FOOLS PAY TO PLAY,
ReplyDeleteIts 9 crates. "3x Three Timber Crates" Still bad tho
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately hundreds of players will never realize how much of a rip-off these are and continue to plunk down good money for this crap, justifying (in the pea-sized brains of the Zynga bean counters at least) the continuation of such frauds.
ReplyDeletei liked the Starter Pack for $15.00 dollars,,,,that was a sweet deal.....180 Rewards Pts...a couple nice loot items and energy and stamina, 6 each and something else......but the Reward pts, 180, I couldnt pass up that deal.....and then throw in all the other goodies too,,,,that was a sweet deal.......I also bought the 215 reward pts for $30.00, not as sweet. but still a good deal. I got plenty reward pts to last a long time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Zynga
