Second Thoughts on the Closure of Italy

Share:

A few days ago, we were the first to show you server images of the next Mission banner (1). If the Mission title “Insurrection In Italy” wasn’t clue enough to suggest Italy would be closing, the timer said it all.

Today this image was removed from the Zynga servers. Now when you go to the image link, you get a “Not Found” error code. Perhaps Zynga has listened to all the reasons players gave for this not being a good idea. With game features like Extreme Missions and Collectable Stat Cards, closing Italy would create problems. There would also be much outcry over losing the Port.

Many assumed Las Vegas would be the next destination to go. Three destinations were shut down last year and each closure was preceded by a Mission. Insurrection In Italy fits the theme of using a adjective, noun or verb that starts with the same letter as the destination. Your guess as to why the Italy image was pulled from the servers is as good as mine.

Thanks to Leonard Wong for noticing the removal.

  1. some should tell them we need a new area. I think it's about time for some thing new instead of these mini games. Need a new area towork in if they plan on removing Italy. Just saying Chicago is finished lets move the game to a new area.

  2. I have a feeling this was probably an image made way back when they made the other ones, "just in case." The fact that they pulled the image tells me they have no intention of closing down Italy any time soon.

    1. Mission server images are linked in the order they are created. This one was made after the Russian Mission and was not in the servers until a few days ago.

Hope not. Italy and Vegas are basically the only places lower level growing players can get their SP up enough to tackle the bigger cities like Brazil. The other cities gave a lot of opportunity for growth and a feeling of success and self worth and now wen you get into some Ruby levels in say Brazil... 810 energy is next to impossible to get.

And yes, what you posted about the Port. Very important SP items in there as well

    1. No mate - a lot of newer players have built NY properties and sat on that until their SP is through the roof....I spoke to a guy a week ago who is level 400 and has 6000 energy/stamina and almost 7000 att & def - never levelled and used properties for a year

  7. Maybe I missed something here. Are you saying the collectable cards drop in italy?

  8. If Italy were to go, then a pattern exists- Brazil might be next. All of the cities closed (or "bannered") are outside the United States.

  9. if they close italy first before las vegas ..thats it for me :D... bye bye

  10. New accounts don't even start in New York. They start in Chicago..My niece started playing and went straight to the windy city. So unless the earlier city maps open as she levels I guess they are going to dump the lot of them........

    1. When a new player starts in Chicago they are stuck there until Level 25 before they can travel to any other city.
