Yesterday I outlined all the changes (aka nerfs) in the re-released Secret District (1). I saw many players complaining about the drop rates of the loot items so I checked it out. Fortunately, I had a 1,000 job run posted on my original walk through (1). I can confirm that the Secret District nerf is worse than we thought. The energy costs, mastery percentages, consumable and currency needed to master the district were increased and the experience/energy ratios and timer were decreased. If this wasn't enough, the loot drop rates were also nerfed! Below are two runs doing the same job "Find Fellini in the Chaos". One is before the nerfed version was released and one is after.
Pre-Nerf
Post-Nerf
Below is a summary and comparison of the two runs. The drop rate is a percentage of how many items dropped for the total energy used. I think we would have accepted all these nerfs to the Secret District if Zynga didn't lie about their reason for pulling it in the first place. It's not like we wouldn't have noticed!
Pre-Nerf | Post-Nerf | |
---|---|---|
Jobs | 1,000 | 1,000 |
Total Energy Spent | 594,000 | 864,000 |
Jailer's Pistol | 21 | 17 |
Police Cap | 23 | 15 |
Night Owl | 26 | 19 |
Total Items | 70 | 51 |
Energy Cost/Item | 8,486 | 16,941 |
Drop Rate* | 0.012% | 0.006% |

thx for ur quick update!! and hammm.. zinga
ReplyDeleteThere doesn't seem to be much consistency in these loot drops (your test looks quite consistent, however). I've spent about 100k energy thus far - mainly getting the consumable - and have a grand total of 1 Pistol, 15 Police Caps and 6 Owls. But at least this looks more promising than the last Secret District where I mastered it to ruby and didn't even get enough of the animal to get the +5 attack.
ReplyDeleteDrop rate ain't 0,006% but it is 5.1% according to your given stats. Drop rate is percentage of jobs that gives you the item for which you calculate the drop rate :)
ReplyDeleteDrop rate on this sit is compared to energy used not jobs performed. Knowing how many items drop per jobs is useless when looking for the best drop rate. You need to see how much energy is used. I never calculate the drop per job because it doesn't tell me anything valuable and you can't compare it to other jobs that cost a different amount of energy. A useless statistic as far as I'm concerned. If you want to know what you version of the drop rate is, go grab your calculator. All the data is available for you to figure out.
DeleteI understand your definition of drop rate in here, but I consider it a wrong label for the stats you are interested in. I decided to wait to level up on ruby and repeat the first few days jobs over and over again in bronze. Still I have around 5% drop rate but for 117 enery a job. The drop rate does not change, only the costs per item rise when higher energy is required.
DeleteOne way for Zyngay to make there "events" last longer lmao, thx for the info, hadn't realized the nerf was as extreme as I missed the secret District first time around :)
ReplyDeleteyup just now used 6K energy, nothing , dammed
ReplyDeleteWhat makes the drop rate and all the other nerfs particularly egregious is that some people were given the opportunity to play with much better stats. Why do they always do that? It's so massively unfair it's very frustrating. It's honestly enough to make me just want to walk away. One of these days...
ReplyDeleteActually it seems better than the last secret district
ReplyDeleteLoot:14/25 12/25 12/25 = 5 defense points
Congratulations! You have earned 5 attack points and I am only on the second tier. On the last one, I had to finish ruby plus spend another 15K+ energy to get the 5 attack points to drop
Received the following first time round:
ReplyDeleteJailer's Pistol 118/50
Police Cap 106/50
Night Owl 115/50
Paddy Wagon 33
Now nothing what and where is the best ratio in the district atm?
wow AMAZING site.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to find out which job in which tier had the highest experience/energy ratio in The Slammer secret district
