UPDATE: Several hours after this post was published, Zynga increased the number of parts we can send to our mafia. Instead of 5 parts, it's now 10. I guess they weren't lying to us after all. They just failed to mention why it would be easier.

Mafia Wars Live may be gone but I’ve just found a use the logo. Zynga loves to spread the bullshit and this one is a doozey! We were told that due to player feedback that the Hanger would be easier to upgrade (1). Here is a screen shot of those endearing words.
The last Limited Time Property was the Assassin’s Academy and a total of 823 parts were needed to upgrade to Level 15 (1). The timer was initially 14 days but due to a Facebook news feed issue, we were given an extra 24 hours. Thanks to members in the community, we now know how many parts are needed to upgrade the Hanger (1). A total of 623 parts will be needed to upgrade your Hanger to Level 15. On the surface this appears easier than the 823 parts needed for the Assassin’s Academy but Zynga must have forgotten that 208 of these parts were giftable. We have to beg for an additional 8 parts so the Hanger is NOT “a bit easier to complete in the time given”.

Many players like Eike are electing not to upgrade this Limited Time Property.
Some have taken it one step further and started an organized boycott. The Stop The Begging Fan Page already 1,669 likes which is pretty impressive for a new page. Players are tired of these Limited Time Properties and want to be heard.
For the complete-ist types, not upgrading something is unheard of. I wish I had the will power to say screw it. If you are unable to not do this event, a funny thing may happen when you generate your requests. Players who are actively boycotting the event are also refusing to help. They will let you know about it on your begging posts. The more players who boycott this event, the more difficult it will be for those who aren’t.
Zynga is NOT listening to their players as they claim. It’s obvious they got the message but they didn’t deliver what the players wanted. Lying to us makes it worse. With the exception of eliminating Limited Time Properties, they could make it easier by not putting a cap on how many players we can help. This would benefit Zynga as well as us. What good is all this spam if you can’t click on it and make something happen!?

ReplyDeleteThe math just doesn't add up. Its impossible for every player to fully upgrade without buying parts. The limitations are ridiculous.
if people don't want to beg and build, that's fine, but they shouldn't punish the ones who want to build, like new players who have no other properties yet, by not helping anyone. personally, i can take or leave it, i'll build what i can, but if i don't finish, oh well, no big loss with all the choices to collect from now. i consider the boycott post spam, as there are more of them on my walls than game posts, and that is more annoying than having to ask for parts. if anyone doesn't want to play a free game, no one is making them, and no one is making anyone spend RP to finish, if they do, it's their choice.

I click on my friends' posts, but the part did not send to its destination, and on my mw homepage does not appear that the part has been sent
ReplyDeleteWell... with testing this morning - I have posted a total 11 parts (10 random + 1 specific part).... I was able to click ALL POSTS and send parts without maxing out! MAYBE ZYNGA LIFTED THE CAP!

Looks like Zynga finally DID something... WOW!
Unfortunately we all know Zynga doesn't really care, they just pay people to spin it in a way that makes it seem like they do for the sake of their bottom line.

I did notice this morning that instead of maxxing out on 5 parts sent, we are now allowed to send 10 parts on the parts specific posts and not sure on the any part post yet. One very annoying though still in place is the 3 cap limit they still have on us when a friend posts an upgrade. If they are going to increase the number we can send, they should also increase the amount we can collect from the upgrades. I will never spend Reward Points to build any property!

ReplyDeleteI am Boycotting the new build. I can never get my properties above a level 7 with all these caps on help. However, I am trying to help as my of my Mafia as I can by clicking their begging posts but again.... it's hard with the caps put on how many people you can help. Zynga is scoring an own goal and shooting themselves in the foot with this kind of thing.

DeleteIt appears the limited time build part gifting limit has changed from 5 to 10 parts per eight hours.
ReplyDeleteThere is another glitch...trying to gift parts, after clicking your friend's post to help them, you are redirected back to your mafia homepage as usual but there is no notification they received the part or had all the parts needed etc. Checking with my friend they never got the part after I clicked it. I am able to help some people but not others because of this error. I tried using both Firefox and Google Chrome...didn't matter, still getting the same dead link.

ReplyDeleteIt's easy to complete when you have several mini's helping, and open up several Ask for Parts tabs where you delete an old one when it's used and start a new one. Without that "cheating" strategy, I would have never completed Assassin's Academy.
ReplyDeleteGMAFB, it's a lousy 8 parts. You fail to see the bigger picture in that the gifting limit was also raised to 10 parts per feed type (i.e. 'Any Part' and Specific)...vs the 5 it was previously. I will be the first to admit Zynga has it faults, but this blog post 'complaining' about an additional 8 parts is a waste of time. The fact remains it really is easier to upgrade even w/o the free part.

Yes it's only 8 parts but they told us it was easier and at the time it wasn't. I do have post summaries now so if something seems like a waste of time to you, don't read it.

ReplyDelete623 is less than 823 and for those of us without a giant mafia to send us parts this is way easier. I probably got around 50 parts gifted to me last time, so this is 150 parts easier.

ReplyDeleteMost help or upgrade posts are dead now. I click them and they do nothing. They don't help, they don't give freebies, they don't even give a message. Many are reporting this problem so it's not just me.

Not the case for me. Say it isn't true for others.
I have got the ability to send 10 parts on the any parts and 10 on the specific and so does 10 of my friends - so we can now click eachothers posts and viola - 20 parts every time we post - a post every 8th hour - that is 3 a day for 14 days = 42 post x 20 parts = 840 parts - u only need 623 parts so that gives u a surplus of 217 parts not needed - thats 10 times posting - it wont be easy - but u can actually do it in about 11 days with a combined efford - so the most ppl should be able to finish this if they just team up and work together.

ReplyDeleteKeep up the Great Job Jennifer and Staff. we all would be lost if it was not for you and others in the community that give up there time and effort free of charge to go through all of the BS spending Reward Points to do walk through's and figure out how every think works and the pit falls to avoid when playing the game. I give you my eternal thanks and gratitude to you Team Spockholm and all of the other selfless players dedicated to our community. For those that do nothing but complain about Jenifer and others that help you all quit playing since you are so miserable.
ReplyDeleteThe schedule of parts works if you are able to be online and make a post every 6 hours, 24 hours a day. Most of us have lives and are not able to do this. Just more begging for something that will never get done, and honestly, it really doesnt matter because none of these count for Family Mission progress anyway.

ReplyDeletecan only beg so long before it gets to be more of a hassle than fun. I have been playing for 3/4 years and loved the game until the property`s in New York started with the time line. When I could`nt keep up any more it was time to quit.
Instead of introducing new properties, Zynga should really think about re-hauling old NY properties (chop shop, armory, wd, zoo) by adding new loot; update the f@#$* FC loot; and do something about Loyalty club loot.

ReplyDeleteI too, was an obsessed "complete-ist" until I made the personal decision to stop the begging with the Assassin bldg 8 parts and 2 days before level 9. By resisting the temptation and standing fast, a huge, self-imposed stress has been lifted. It feels good. Much like quitting smoking about a month ago, I feel empowered to have taken back control in my life. Thank you MWLL for giving the Boycott page creds. ~ina
ReplyDeleteJust let everyone know that the way around the 10 gifts sent. The main reason we all started bunny/looter accounts was to help our mains. While doing my mains 10 posts... I got every part my bunnies sent to my main(7 bunnies in total). Then 8 hours later I did it again. But as I was doing it the second time around a family member was begging so I took one of my bunnies and helped him but to my displeasure I then received the "10 parts limit" sent message instantly. So I think if you only help one account, you'll be ok. We have started a parts sending partners group in our family and seems to be going good thus far. I myself am level 11 and should be just about 13 after I post my next "post party".... :) So take this how you will and good luck on getting it done.
