The Countdown To Annihilation Marketplace Promotion will end today at 11:50pm (PST). They never did put those Holiday Mayhem Crates on sale.....
.....and I never did purchase anything from the Marketplace during the span of the promotion. My goal was to have zero tick marks on my progress meter and it looks like I will make it.
It is a little weird for me to not have the mastery item in my inventory but I've accepted it. Like the majority of players, I don't have any of the rare Boss Fight loot items so this isn't a very big deal.
The past two Marketplace Promotions offered better loot and the current Crates were on sale. I got multiple items in both the Bloody Christmas and Black Friday Revenge Promotions.
What I like most about boycotting the Countdown To Annihilation is that when it ends I will still have Reward Points and won't need to buy anymore.
My goal for January is to not get enough Loyalty Points to maintain Platinum Player status. With rumors of the Loyalty Program going away, what is the point? The need to give more incentive to stay a Platinum Player for me to worry about it. As we all know, there is nothing to spend our Loyalty Points on.

Why has this game turned into a cash cow? Making players that want any of the good loot have to buy it and not offering the good loot like the crates that are worth buying at a discounted price like they have in the past. I am with you Jen i did not even bother to spend any reward points on the loot they offered for this event because the stats were not worth it like the crate items would have been.
ReplyDeleteFunny thing - the more they try to squeeze me for RP for new reasons, the less interested I am on spending them on the things I have in the past either.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, my New Year's Resolution is to spend no more on purchases for this game which is slowly but steadily dying. When it's gone, it's buh-bye Zynga and buh-bye Facebook for me.
I found that the Tattoed Crates were reduced to 6RP each, and the loot was great, all of it was useful, it wasn't obvious it was on sale though as it was on the second page of the Crates section and not in the Holiday Sale section, actually didn't mind spending the money for once ;o)
ReplyDelete@Saetana, I did mention that this was an option but most of us who participate in these promotions bought many Tattoo Crates for the last one. I don't want more of the same loot when I should have been able to get the new Crate items and that's why myself and many others boycotted the event. ~Jen
ReplyDeleteThe Loyalty Program Was The beginning of the end for many player. It was insulting to many who were loyal players yet don't have the money to spend. I personally have played this game loyally every day since august 2010 and haven't even made gold level yet. What a freakin joke and sham the loyalty program IS.Zynga can't do away with it fast enough in my mind!
ReplyDeleteI have been playing since Feb 09 and MW has just gone down hill very fast. I am a daily player and read jens blog every day before the game and i just dont know how new players are even staying interested in the game at this stage. I admit i love the loot and have spent my share of reward points to have the loot but now that i consider myself more of a seasoned player dont waste your reward points on just any loot. Mastery items and crates i have found are the best rewards. My advise to new or any players read jens blog first it has saved me alot of time and reward points.
