Yesterday there was a serious bug involving the gift system. Players were told they had reached their limit after just a few gifts were accepted
(1).
Today Zynga updated their post on the Mafia Wars Blog and said the issue was fixed
(1). They also said that "You can now accept all pending gifts through ZMC".
An interesting side effect occurred shortly after this bug was squashed. Many players reported that they were able to accept more than 250 gifts. We are still seeing reports of this on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page. I don't know if some were reset and allowed to collect 250 gifts more than once or if Zynga is experimenting with the gift accept limit. Not all players were able to accept more than 250 gifts but enough to notice were able to. A/C Ratz submitted the following image. The Gift Collector by Team Spockholm tracks how many gifts you accepted for the day. You can see the total is 551.
It would be a dream come true if the limit of requests we could open per day were raised from 250 to 500. We have 500 in our mafia so why can't we accept a gift from everyone who takes the time to send us one?
Being able to accept 500 gifts would be a play from Zynga that has been in their suggestion box since 2 months after they opened the game. Their written response to the suggestion. " Thank you for your suggestion, but at this time there are no plans for being able to accept 500 gifts from your mafia or sending 500 gifts to your mafia." Ken at Customer Support. This response was then followed by a series of "Zynga Ideas" that they themselves posted in their blog that being able to send/receive 500 gifts a day was a possibility. Ken no longer is a part of their support he moved on to better things.(Google)

ReplyDeleteBecause you're not actually taking the time to send the gifts, are you? Who has the time to send and receive 250 gifts per day, let alone 500? It really pisses me off that Zynga is favoring the script users like this.
Zynga added an 'add max' button to gifting, so it's extremely easy to send 500 gifts without a script.
DeleteI'm happy for U getting 501 gifts a day - some of us are struggeling getting 50 - even if we have played for over 2 years - wonder why people are leaving this game... Best from Anna
ReplyDeleteThe whole game is wrapped around having 501 mafia members. Anyone not having at least this many mafia members is at a decided disadvantage. I recall those days, not being able to win a war because I did not have 6 active mafia members. Brutal. If you are not the type to want to add so many people, then MW is just not your kinda game. Anyone not getting more gifts than they can receive each day is just simply not sending enough gifts to enough people and, probably, not returning enough gifts to enough people. It's an inherently critical part of the game. And there is no need for a script to work this part of the game, so script bashers, if you do not wish to use scripts to help in the menial parts of the game, this is not an area that you can center on as unfair.
