The Lexington Hotel Secret District is now available. Look for it on the Home Page or on the Chicago Job Page. The Travel bar hasn't been updated you. We have 14 days to complete it. Go here for details on all the loot items.
On the Chicago Job Page, Secret Districts are now called Additional Districts. I guess they aren't very secret if everybody knows about them.
Zynga also found a way to capitalize on Additional Districts by offering a reward if you get a certain number of loot items. You will find a tracker on top of the district image which lists how many of the loot items you own, 2X Loot Boosts and consumable items.
Open it up and BAM! You can buy all these items with Reward Points. Loot items cost 35 Reward Points, 2x Loot Boosts cost 3. Lexington Room Keys cost 1 Reward Point but you get two of them.
If you happen to miss this page, don't worry, you can purchase all the crappy loot items from the Inventory Page. They should be embarrassed to offer loot that won't help most players stats for 35 Reward Points.
If you acquire a 10, 25, or 50 of each loot item that drops, you will get a bonus of +5 attack, +5 defense and +5 skill points respectively. I can buy 4 of them in the Marketplace for 14 Reward Points or speed up my crafting timer for 12 and get 6 attack or defense points in the Weapons Depot. Zynga missed the boat again and I doubt players will use Reward Points or energy just to get some extra skill points. Thanks but no thanks. This has to be a sign that people don't like Secret Districts now that the loot isn't helpful and the energy/experience ratios aren't better than what we already have in the game. I will post a walk though later tonight outlining this "Additional District". Go here to see the mastery item, loot and consumable items.
Leonard Wong already finished it and posted it on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page (1). You won't be seeing any great ratios The best one not requiring a consumable is only 1.89! Pffffttt, I'm going to finish it and never go back.

I will most definitely spend energy to get those skill points. WHat else am I going to do with the energy since I have all the other jobs done. The RP cost is ridiculous but for energy, hells yeah
ReplyDeleteBy any chance, do you have a total count on those crappy consumables that we need to use?
ReplyDeleteI'll finish it only because I'm done with all jobs, but you would think they'd give us better XP ratios per job. :sigh:
The bland loot value is probably less a sign of people not caring about these districts and more a sign of Zynga having them pre-developed and in-the-box too far ahead of time. Then when rolled out, these districts and their loot values haven't been properly edited and updated to assign desirable loot values. Getting people re-interested in the idea of leveling would be valuable for Zynga -- it would see increases in purchase of energy points, and it would return the game to what it was for about the first 20 months: a two-track game dependent on both building levels, and on fighting. Now, it's a two track game, and one of those tracks is fighting, but the other track is clanning/yapping, the latter being an activity off of which Zynga makes cash only indirectly.

P.S. Do we know the number of keys it takes to do all levels? If not, I'll just acquire an extra 500 keys at the end of the first level (where I'm currently at, having just come online), and post here how many I have left at the end. That will be a rough guide, anyway.
It would be much better if the loot is distributed according with mastery level...loot with bronze star, silver star, etc. That would gove zynga space to increase value of the loot with every district level.
ReplyDeleteOK, I don't have an exact count, because I don't really care enough about having a couple dozen keys too many or too few, BUT, I can assure anyone that if, AFTER the first level of Lex is complete, a player has 100 KEYS IN INVENTORY, that player will likely not need any more keys to complete all four levels. This is especially true since you get them as gifts as well, and I don't recall accepting any as gifts while I did this new city.
ReplyDeleteIf one were to be completing this city slowly, over the course of a day or three, one would not need ANY extra keys, since getting the extra keys as gifts would surely suffice.
