7 Days of Holidays

Share:

Our Holiday Event is a dud and only those willing to waste Reward Points on loot items that will become obsolete can participate. This is one for the collectors.
The concept is you get a deal everyday and each day the deals get better. I'm not getting the 1 loot item for 40 Reward Points deal but that's what it says. Open the banner to see the other "deals". 1 additional loot item will be added to the deal everyday. So on day 7 we can buy items. As usual Zynga didn't do a good job of explaining this one.
As usual Zynga didn't do a good job of explaining this one. I get that each day offers a better deal meaning you get more loot items for the same price. What doesn't make sense is the third instruction which states "once unlocked, you can purchase a deal as many times as you want as long as you have more numbers of the previous deal". Are we supposed to spend 40 Reward Points for one item multiple times in order to spend 40 Reward Points for more of another item?
I was going to stop this post at the instructions which were written in Zyganese. It would be crazy to spend 40 Reward Points for 1 loot item and I would hardly call it a deal. Because many of you make donations, it wouldn't be right to blow this off. I hate to throw my Reward Points into the fire but here it goes. When you click on the purchase button, you get a notification that says "You bought the Day 1 Deal: 1 Exotic Dance". Ok maybe it wasn't such a waste, who wouldn't want an Exotic Dancer in their inventory? Hopefully there won't be any internal fighting between her and the Pole Dancer.
The banner will display that you own 1 item and the purchase button will return. From the instructions, I could do this all day long.
I guess we will see what happens tomorrow when the second "deal" unlocks. According to part 3 of the instructions, I won't be able to purchase Deal #2 unless I have 2 Exotic Dancers. I would need to spend 80 Reward Points today in order to spend 40 tomorrow assuming my interpretation of the instructions is correct. Maybe the price will go down tomorrow and I will be able to understand that there is a person out there who thought this was a deal. He was definitely drinking the Zynga water!

  1. I think you misinterpret the deals. My reading of it was that day two's Deal was two items for 40 rps. So effectively if you bought 1 of every days deal you'd have spent 280 rps but own 1+2+3+4+5+6+7 = 28 items making each item cost 10 rps.

  2. If your interpretation is correct you need:

    day * buys = total
    1 * 18 = 18
    2 * 9 = 18
    3 * 6 = 18
    4 * 4 = 16
    5 * 3 = 15
    6 * 2 = 12
    7 * 1 = 7

43 * 40 rp = 1720 rp to get all the items. Yet another braindead event!

  3. The way I interpret it is that if you have 1 Day 1 purchase, you can only buy Day 2 once. If you wanted to buy two Day 2 purchases, you would have to have at least two Day 1 purchases.

  4. It says, "you can purchase a deal". So in order to buy deal #2, you would need to have to first buy deal #1. If you want to buy five of deal #2, you would have to first buy five of deal #1.

If you want to buy deal #7, which is obviously the best deal (7 items for 40 RP, assuming the price is the same) you would have to first buy each of the previous deals. Which means you would be paying 7 x 40 = 280 RP for a total of 7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 28 loot items, or 10 RP each. Not a bad overall deal. Every time you want to buy deal #7 you would have to first buy each of the first 6 deals.

  5. I THINK what they are saying is that you will be able to purchase the same number of TIMES each day. For example of you buy 3x's on day 1 you'll be able to buy up to 3x's the next day but receive 2 items on each purchase.

  6. Assuming the deal each day costs 40 RP, each day you get N items for 40 RP where N is the day number:

    day 1 - 1 item for 40 RP
    day 2 - 2 items for 40 RP = 20RP per item
    day 3 - 3 items for 40 RPM = 16.6 RP per item
    ...
    day 7 - 7 items for 40 RPM = 5.71 RP per item

You can purchase the day 7 deal only if you have purchased the day 6 deal, which you can only purchase if you've bought all the prior day deals.

If you bought all 7 days, you would pay 280 RP for a total of 28 items. That's 10 RP per item, which isn't bad. The only catch is that you have to buy them in multiples of 28 for this to make sense.

  7. Revisiting that analysis. It may be that you need to buy 2 of the first day item to buy the second day item. That means you need to by the first deal 7 times to buy the second deal 6 times to, eventually, by the 7th deal 1 time.

If you did that, I think that would mean you buy 28 deals for a total of 1120 RP. You'd net 84 items, making it 13.3 RP per item.

  8. I think you have misinterpreted the Zyngaese.

It seems to me that you have to buy one of the first item (for 40rp) to allow you to buy the deal tomorrow (two items for 40rp).

If you don't buy one today you can't buy the better deal (2 items) tomorrow.

    Does that make sense?

  9. hmm .. from the looks of it .
    40 RP = 1 item ( Day 1 )
    40 RP = 2 items ( Day 2 )
    40 RP = 3 items ( Day 3 ) and so on ..
but with zynga , its hard to believe , they would give such a deal to us.

  10. "once unlocked, you can purchase a deal as many times as you want as long as you have more numbers of the previous deal"

I think this means that if you buy 3 of day 1 items, then you'll be able to buy 3 of day 2. If you buy only 2 of day 1, you can only buy 2 of day 2.

If you only buy 1 item of day 1, then you'll be limited to only 1 item each day as you'd only be able to buy 1 of day 2. When day 3 rolls around, you'll only be able to buy 1 since you only bought 1 on day 2 and so forth.

  11. How I understand this is;
Day 1 you spend 40 RP for dancer.
Than on day 2 for 40 RP you get 2 Axes...
On day 3 for 40 RP you get 3 virgos!
    etc...
You want more 2 more Axes for 40 RP? Sure but first buy another Dancer for 40 RP!
    etc...
    tq

  13. I spotted it when it first popped open, and it was 35 points per first item. I bought a bunch, because, based on a phone call I was having with my attorney at the time, we concluded that there was OFFER AND ACCEPTANCE that the offer was that:

1.) The purchaser would be able to make the same number of purchases as in the prior day.

2.) The next day's price could NOT exceed the prior day's price, per purchase, and must include the multiples shown of the exact items.

3.) No changes could be made to the value of the subsequent items, or number of items in the purchase.

4.) If Zynga raised the price of the initial item, those who bought in at 35 would be required to receive an equal number of subsequent purchases at 35 points each. But...

4a.) Zynga will be entitled to charge the higher price per purchase the following day on any purchases made at the higher price.

5.) Should any legal challenge be made, Zynga TOS could be made to apply, to the extent that they are not unconscionable (they're highly unconscionable, as are almost all boilerplate adhesive TOS), but that because the rules shown were written by Zynga, any area of doubt of confusion in the offering must, as a pillar of law, inure to the benefit of the participant accepting the contract and making purchase.

So, I'm buying up. And I have full faith that Zynga will conduct itself appropriately and act in GOOD FAITH on its clear offer-and-acceptance contract, here on the EVE of its IPO, and NOT SCREW UP in this matter.

    Happy Holidays! :-)

  14. P.S. I bought more at 40. I tend to think it's still a good deal. :-)

P.P.S. I rarely bad-mouth Zynga, and don't wish to leave that impression here. I just think they offered something, then kicked themselves when people bought-up like crazy at 35 rps. They couldn't really raise it toooo much, so they took it to 40, at which, according to what they claim to offer (which I'll need to check my screenshots to see if they re-worded the offer), is still a GOOD DEAL.

Bottom line: If you have the points to spend, by day 7 you'll have one category FILLED with 150-point items. Good deal. Thanks Zyng! Nice holiday gift!

  15. This reminds me of the scene with Chico & Groucho in "A Day at the Races".
Maybe Zynga is channeling the Marx Brothers.
