A major problem with Family Battle Requests is they come with no information. Most of the time, you have no idea who the family is and you don't know if the family challenging you wants a 1 Hour or 4 Hour Battle. All you get is the name of the family, the "Accept Battle" button and a "REJECT" link. Players have been asking that Zynga provide more information for sometime now.
If you use the Spockholm Toolbar, you will now get exactly what you asked for.
The "Accept Battle" button will tell you if a 1 or 4 hour battle is being requested.
Links to the Mafia Wars Family Page and the Spockholm Family Ranks Spreadsheet will also appear under the request. You can now check these out to learn something about the family before you accept or reject the battle.
In the example below, the Eike's Family challeneged the {ASS} Family to a 4 hour battle.
Four hours seems like a long time so I checked the family out by going to their profile page. Hmmm, a family of one? This wouldn't be a fair fight at all.
This only member is a level 128 but maybe he has something going on we don't know about. I decided to check it out on the Family Rank spreadsheet by Team Spockholm. Nope, he must have sent this challenge in error. I decided that the {ASS} Family wouldn't accept this battle.
It's unfortunate that one of the other admin decided to go for it. Poor Eike got his ass kicked. I wish Zynga would allow us to appoint specific admins to accept or reject battle requests. Too many cooks in the kitchen give way to the possibility that battles will be accepted or rejected in error. A confirmation button would also help to prevent this.
If you want to start using the Spockholm Toolbar, go here for instructions on installing and using it. After you use it once, you will wonder how you ever played without it.

Thanks for this. Until now we've been doing it the long way round, (going to the senders mw profile, adding them to family rivals, clicking on their family name) just to view info.
