If you click on a gift link, your Error Pig will display a new message. This one made me laugh and is Zynga's way of saying "Yes, we broke your precious Link-a-Nator". The old df-98 errors said "Something went wrong when you tried to accept this request from XXX". Zynga decided to define exactly what went wrong and the new message says "The gift link you clicked is invalid because it was likely created by a third-party tool that does not support recent changes to the Mafia Wars gifting system. Please use the in game Message Center for all of your gifting needs.". Everybody knows that third-party tool is the Link-a-Nator. Zynga should have given Team Spockholm a plug in the error message!

Thanks to Ahmad Faizal for noticing and notifying me of the change. I stopped clicking on gift links when they stopped working and would have never noticed.

I miss the get-a-nator links badly :( but we can't complain really we've had a fantstic run with these links from team spockholm and i for one am sure they will not be defeated my the retards at zynga for long....lets face it if most of us didn't have the bookmarks that spockholm provides us with do they really think we would carry on playing their game as long as we have? I doubt it, because it would just be such hard work day after day trying to get ur mafia to help u with parts etc, and if ur lucky like me u have a fantastic family that all go out of their way to make sure we gift each other everyday without fail...;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know about third party tools but I am still getting mafia wars requests in my facebook requests that dont show up in ZMC ... I cant collect any of them if I click on them it just takes me to the game and the ZMC where my gift is noticeably absent...

ReplyDeleteThere's always a way around everything. I have confidence somehow, someway, someday someone will find a way to get everything back into working order! HHMMMM... maybe The Loot Lady should start her own mafia wars? I'm sure we would all follow and leave Zynga eating their RP's
ReplyDelete@John M, I didn't say they are the only 3rd tool providers. I'm talking about the Link-a-Nator. Sure other tools may do the same thing as links are easy enough to create manually but Link-a-Nator was first and is the most popular.
