In the midst of a whole bunch of screw ups, Zynga decided to throw a nerf into the mix. Now for those who don't even have already nerfed Ptamina Packs, this won't matter. From now on you have to choose between a Power Pack or an Energy Pack. I noticed that my Energy Packs and Power Pack timers were in sync and I know for a fact I didn't use them at the same time.
Boris B.: That's an update made to the packs Sam, from now on, you can either use an Energy or a Stamina pack every 8 hours.
Sam: what????
Boris B.: When you use a pack you will see a message at the button of the pop up:
Boris B.: You can only use 1 Power Pack to refill stamina OR
Boris B.: 1 energy pack to refill energy every 8 hours. Choose Wisely.
This is some serious bullshit and could not have happened at a worse time. I do believe they are trying to drive players out of this game and they hope we will go play Mafia Wars 2 which is scheduled for release soon.

ReplyDeleteThis is the worst crap I have ever see in this game. Zynga allowed the new feature to some players for testing and now are making mad all players. The worst part is that they don't send any notifications, and the customer support chat will be very busy (and nasty) today. For those that like to spend money in RP, stop doing it and send some kind of protest in an E_Mail to Zynga. They don't have respect for the players. You have to play the game just waiting for the next disaster. I guess in Zynga they have a DCEO (Disaster Creator Executive Officer). If they do, the guy deserve a promotion and a new compensation package.
ReplyDeleteHeard that Mafia Wars 2: Shadow Nation will be on the line of Farmville / Cityville kind of stuff..boss then i'm off the game forever if that comes up...that show how sick & demented the developers are..as it is the game is filled with bugs, glitches & even more bugs..now having sequel to MW on charecter based like Farmville..boy i don't want to waste my time on that nerdy stuff....will wait & watch..if Zynga forces us to move to ver 2.0 of their game..then it's good bye to Mafia Wars forever...

I've been wondering if the reason they're rolling so much out so fast has been because they're "clearing the shelves" of things they had in progress before closing up shop on this one, and this just makes it look even more like that may well be the case.

no freakin' way after they way they've abused players (can anyone say "customers"?) on this one. If (when) this game shuts down I 'm swearing off anything to do with Zynga (and quite possibly facebook as well) and taking my credit card with me.
When I started playing this game it was a fun, recreational pastime that I was willing to spend a few dollars on for enjoyment. What they've done to it in the past few months has made it more of a hassle than anything else.
Maybe they try to "balance the game" once again, this is good news to poor sobs like me, who don't even got the Powerpacks yet and saw the Stimpacks taken out of the game :|
ReplyDeleteOk so let me get this straight. I still dont have powerpacks but by the time I get them they will be of zero extra benefit to me? All the while people that have had them from the start were gaining atleast an extra level per day (or 5 skill points).

ReplyDeleteI wish Zynga would stop adding new stuff to Mafia Wars until they have fixed the Past and present problems. I have had so many problems the last three days that It was almost impossible to play Mafia Wars and have been unable to reach them by Chat. Maybe they are HIDDING.

I figure within the next six months or so I'll be down to 1 or 2 of their games, if that. ReplyDeleteGood! At least the "playing field is [more] level" now. I've never had power packs at all. It's about time those that have them lose that enormous advantage over the rest of us. How many skill points and RPs have I already lost relative to those people -- lots.

Question though: are both refills 125% or is energy 125 and stamina 100, or are they both 100% (in which case I would agree with you that this is a nerf, though still on nowhere near the colossal proportions as letting some people have power packs AND epacks for a month while others didn't).
They are trying to make us buy stamina & energy at 10RP a pop, hence the introduction of 2 or 3 features at the same time. Methinks it will backfire on them.

ReplyDeleteI have NEVER had the Power Packs , do you realize how many Hundreds of lost skill points from lost levels that is ? And now they have Nerfed them so you have to choose between Stamina or Energy ? WTH is that about when the idea was to give players some sort of stamina boost in addition to energy packs !
ReplyDeleteI've had 27 mw's friends up and leave the game in the last month alone because of issues with both mw's and fb and I'm about to join them. This game has become more frustrating than enjoyable these days. A person can't catch up unless they script and scripting is against TOS rules, but evidently that too is overlooked by Zynga, which is a disadvantage to those of us who are allowed only so much data usage. If I wasn't on a plan such as that, you better believe I'd be scripting like crazy just to keep up with this mess, that is, if the game ever ran smoothly enough. I've battled lag, revolving bullets, time outs, white outs, black outs, not loading for over two weeks now and talked with Zynga through email until I finally gave up and they still keep uploading all this unnecessary junk that the players don't want. I don't know what Mafia Wars 2 is about, this is the first I heard, but from what I'm reading here, that might be my cue to leave this game forever and ask that my money be returned in full to this unhappy customer.
ReplyDeleteI still don't have the power packs. Just got the Union Hall today. Even though I have played for a long time and am over level 3,100 I seem to be the last one to ever get anything.
ReplyDeleteThe dumbest thing about all this is releasing these changes with no prior notice and doing it on a Friday when all the senior staff will be out of the office for the weekend. Brilliant!
I only got Union Hall myself last week, I thought I was always one of the last to get stuff but I've had stamina packs right from the beginning, and suffered through all the changes they keep making to them. I haven't read the blog for a couple of days so got a nasty surprise when I clicked on a power pack for stamina (which was giving me 50%) and it nerfed my energy timer as well, would have planned better if I'd have known. At least 125% is better than 50%, but I'd rather have kept energy and stamina on separate timers. I'm going nowhere though, only been playing 7 months and am completely addicted ;o)
ReplyDeletewhenever i go to choose stamina, the timer is already running even though i have at no point chose energy. is it that when you heal up in NY it just sets the timer off? i will login , get health low from fighting, heal in NY, then when stam gets low i go to choose stamina power pack and the timer is already at like 7 hours 30 minutes or whatever.. i can NEVER get a stamina pack..
