Mafia Wars Live Episode 11 Recap

Share:

I finally got around to watching Mafia Wars Live Episode 11.  I was disappointed to hear that from now on the shows are going to be pre-recorded and not live. They really need to come up with a new name or consider bringing the live version back. We are all very busy just playing the game and I found I kept putting off watching it. When it was live, I was right there to watch it.  Jeff is in a Bluth Company T-Shirt which comes from one of my favorite and long gone TV shows Arrested Development.
The show starts out with a recap of last weeks events. I've covered everything mentioned on this blog so I won't repeat it all.  Ben pointed out that there was a lot and it was the longest list he's ever seen. Maybe the developers will listen to him because they sure don't listen to us.

-The taunting contest is still on going. It will end on September 26th Future entries many not be used for Silverio. Jeff states there will be more bosses to come including a female boss.

-Ben announces that Chicago is coming soon. I guess he didn't get the memo that it's already out.

-Jeff explains Henchmen and confirms there will be 5 equipment categories. The Armor items listed as Persons will all be moved into the Henchmen category.  Ben later states that the change should happen sometime next week. We can expect our equipment scores to increase by roughly 20%.

-Ben goes into a song and dance about the Power Pack Experiment and a decision may be made very soon.

-Next week there are going to be some "tweaks" to the Family Battle feature. Improvements are suppose to be made based on player feedback.

-Mafia Wars 2 is an expansion of the Mafia Wars universe and not a replacement of our current game. The analogy of a brother and sister was made. Just because a new sibling comes along, the old one isn't disposed of.

-For the beginning of the Mafia Wars 3 year anniversary celebration, Zynga will be giving away some free loot.

-There will be a "slight extension" of the Daily Take. No details were given but it will go beyond 7 days.

-There will be a 4th Limited Time Upgrade Property.

The recap and announcements were followed by a player submitted Q&A session which we were told would be followed up with transcripts. Nothing has been posted at this time but I'd rather wait then try to do it myself. The items of interest are listed below.

-Jeff mentioned that we may see reopen events for Moscow and Bangkok within the year.

-Nothing will change as far as the New York money achievements are concerned.

-There won't be updates to the Fight Club any time soon because players have too many Victory Coins.

-Watching them explain the Grant Batch cookie problem was entertaining at best and we were promised an answer on the transcripts.

-A player suggested that if we ice someone who steals our ice we should get credit for 2 ices. Jeff was really into the idea and said it's a very good possibility that could happen.

-Ben explains that the limit of gifts you can send is a Facebook limitation and Zynga is doing everything they can to increase it.

-All items with stats of 85 and below will soon become giftable.

-The Street Blade and the Argentinean Lullaby are designed to have an extremely low drop rate. It was stated they can't just give them away (guess they haven't visited Customer Support).

-It's possible that a Ruby Level of New York could be added in the future.

Although the episode which can be seen in two parts here and here was pre-recorded, I was able to find the live version in the Zynga servers.

Thanks to Mike Nestor for finding the lost live version of Mafia Wars Live. I will post the Q&A transcripts as soon as they become available.

  2. "There won't be updates to the Fight Club any time soon because players have too many Victory Coins." LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL they mean to say, that they added the feature of victory coins, but they won't be adding any loot to use them on, simply because people gathered a lot of them???!!! does this mean they won't plan to utilize Rewardville coins as well?!?! why the heck do they make these features if they plan to drop them after the first/second wave of loot?
