Zynga really wants us to know they will be updating their servers. There is a message on top of the Game Header.
If you click on the "More info" link, it takes you to the forums where calle13jr, Super Moderator, further explains that it should take about 4 hours and you may notice load delays and slow game performance.

Customer Support didn't bother. They haven't been keeping us updated very well lately. Who knows what we will end up with when it's all over. Hopefully all players will have Power Packs and all Families will have Family Chat. We can only dream...
