Group Sales: FAIL!

Share:

The latest and greatest gimmick to get players to spend Reward Points on loot items turned out to be a fail. I posted all the details here. In an ideal world, the Onyx 50 that I purchased would have gone up in stats and I would have felt happy about getting a higher valued item at a lower cost. That's not how it turned out. With about two hours left on the timer, Zynga made a last ditch effort and put an ad on the Home Page Ad Module.
It wasn't looking good for the Onyx 50. 2,422 more would need to be sold in order for the said upgrade to happen.
It never got there. When the timer ran out, the item quietly disappeared from the Marketplace. I checked my inventory and my Onyx 50 remained at the Gold Level.
Nice Investment my ass!  The only thing I learned from this feature is not to buy another one.
Maybe players would spend more money in the Marketplace if they had time.  As it stands right now, we have Ice Mastery, Family Progression, Epic Family Boss Fights, The Smuggler's Haven, the To Kill A Mocking Bird Mission, the Arch Enemies Boost Mastery Event, and the reopening of Cuba with a forth mastery level to worry about. In a game that claims to have over 20 million players, you would think that selling a couple thousand more loot items would be easy.

  1. the obvious problem was that there like 100 or something on bronze and wayyy wayyy too many on gold, nobody was idiot enough to buy it already at the gold level...perhaps if theywould mark it as a collectors...it is again obvious that in fact normal marketplace loot is collectors loot, because collectors loot sells more loot than normal marketplace loot so normal marketplace loot is in fact rarer in the game than collectors loot...
