Vengence Package Here and Gone

Well over a month ago, The Official Mafia Wars Blog told us about a new type of boost called Vengeance. We all waited patiently and nothing seemed to come to fruition with this thing.

Some players found Vengeance Boosts existed and could be obtained through Robbing Level Up bonuses (1).

The problem was they didn't work and I later found out that they weren't suppose to be added to these bonuses. They came in several different varieties.

You could add them to your wishlist and gift them to your mafia.

You could also obtain them from Mystery Bags if they were items on your wishlist.

That's about all you could do with them. If you turned on your boosts, they were utilized but didn't do anything for you. Today some players found they became available for 3 Reward Points whenever you lost a fight.

This sounds more like what the Mafia Wars Blog described.

Players who were able to purchase them found they didn't do as promised. Today Cerulean Master, Super Moderator, explained that the Vengeance Boosts were turned off because of a bug.

Vengeance has been temporarily turned off due to a reported bug. The boosts will return. CM __________________

Maybe the bug was that they didn't work or maybe Zynga figured out that some players figured out how to manipulate the level up bonuses to drop Vengeance Boosts. Who knows how much longer we will have to wait for this feature.
