Matty and his family have been a part of the Mafia Wars community for a long time. I was honored to participate in the Mafia Superheros For Matty event almost a year ago. Matty had a great time and it meant a lot to him to see his parents and the Mafia Wars community fight for his cause. Tragically Matty lost his battle with Medulloblastoma (a malignant brain tumor) in March but he remains a part of us and the Mafia for Matty 2011 Event is to honor his memory and help the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. So far there are approximately 60 families involved and over 2000 players have signed up. All the details of the event and how you can participate and help can be found at here.

History of Mafia Wars for Matty
In early 2010, what began as a family fundraiser for the Strength in Numbers Mafia Wars family to help out one of it's own, soon became something much larger.
Mafia Wars Superheroes for Matty on Facebook began as a fundraiser for Matt Melton and his family to help offset some of the costs related to Matty's treatment. The Melton family, and indeed his SIN family, were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the Mafia Wars community from all over the world.
Sadly, Matty passed away in March of 2011, but his legacy lives on. The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children helped the Melton family when they needed it most, so when Matt and his family were contacted about a Foundation in memory of Matty, SIN felt that an annual fundraiser in Matty's name would be a great way to give back to the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, and help other families going through a similar situation.
The 2nd Annual Mafia Wars for Matty fundraiser is July 15th to 17th, 2011, we hope that you will get involved in some way.
