Zynga did tell us that Ice Season Events were going to be a weekly thing (1). We currently have 4 Ice Season Event loot items in our inventory.

I would love to have a break. 13 just seems a bit much. It was great the first time, but to roll right into another one...I'm the ice queen. I wished Zynga would stop ruining this game. They bring out a great idea only to kill it for the rest of us by repeating it week after week. This is going to get old really fast.
ReplyDeleteI know I wish there was a break too....I get the 100 ice in about 5 days but still I spend most of my time doing that and you have little time to do other aspects of the game......I think they are going to loss moy players if this continues every week....not that they haven't loss alot already there are half the players as from the peak days.....but I beleive that newer players will give up because they won't see 1000 Ices week after week.....it should be once a month maybe.....with mission mixes in every couple weeks.....just saying

ReplyDeleteWhat I don't get on this thing is that you have 5 lvl's and only get the reward once!!!
If you think about this, why should you go on icing if you get the same reward on diamond 1??!!
I think it would be better if you get the amound of reward equaly 2 youre lvl of advancement. Diamond 1 is one reward. Diamond 5 is 5 rewards. that would sure make those 800 xtra icings worth it.

ReplyDeleteI just haven't been doing them. It's just too much. Guess I could join the cheaters and use scripts, but that's just not why I play the game. How is that fun? So I have to admit: this is yet another thing that is making me want to quit the game. This game was supposed to be a pleasant diversion; I don't have tons of time to devote to this game. I will never be able to keep up with the cheaters, so why bother trying? How is it fun to run a script to play the game for you? I guess some people just enjoy cheating is all. I've met people like that. So sad that Zynga is letting them destroy the game. They could shut down the cheaters if they really wanted to. It's easy to detect who is running scripts.
ReplyDeleteumm - using scripts actually makes it harder to get the 1,000 ices. it is a known fact that when playing the fightlist in a random fashion and manually you can smartly pick your targets or know when to not bother with some big health nut, etc..
ReplyDeleteNext - you can play the game you want to play, if you do not get a single ice then nothing happens to you.
now you have to finish all 5 levels of diamond to get the loot item at diamond and that is a drag to do week after week, I agree.
However my normal game play nets me 200 ices a week pretty easily and that finsihes Ruby level for me which is just fine for the loot.
so all-in-all I get a nice piece of loot and some rewards for my typical 200 ices and since, as correctly pointed out, the rewards along the way from 200 to 1000 ices are lame - I simply do not worry about it and go enjoy the game.
Using scripts might make it harder or it might not, depending on your stats. If your stats are good all you have to do to complete this is start a script. How is that harder vs someone who has to spend many, many hours fighting manually to get 1000 icings?

ReplyDeleteYou clearly do not understand how the awarding works. If you complete Diamond Level 1 by the end of the event, you get a Diamond Level 1 badge and a Ruby mastery item.
The only way to get the Diamond mastery item is to get 1k ices.
They should bring the game back to the roots - those icing events are getting lamer and lamer...

ReplyDeleteI don't understand why everyone feels entitled to be able to finish every single thing in the game. These events seem perfectly suited to allowing players to play at their own pace. There's almost no harm to sitting one out, yet there's small small reward (item and temporary badge) if you do. It's a great even to let you compare your play one week to the next or to other people in your family.
ReplyDeleteI think this kind of event, which rewards actual play (not gifting) and has different levels of rewards for different levels of play (strong players can compete for the highest level whereas weaker players can get weaker rewards) are exactly what the game needs. I can understand (and agree) when people complain about impossible achievements or overloading the mindless gifting events, but the ice events are really nice.
Well the way I look at it we all have a choice..and I choose not to jump thro hoops for Zynga..I am as competative as the next but being tied to ZYNGA for 13 weeks for a piece of loot is not what I choose to do..especially not in the summer months..just saying.. timing stinks, time frame stinks, in fact..it all stinks..lol..MJG

ReplyDeleteI think that's great. If the game continues to be designed where every player can (and must) complete every part of the game, then Mafia Wars will continue to fail. I think it's things like this that give players diverging goals that they can pursue according to their own time and desires (without putting those who don't choose that route at a significant disadvtange) that are bringing life back to Mafia Wars.
ReplyDeletei am a daily player with 4600 stamina and thus have to use the assasinator script in order to level up use enrgy packs, stamina boosts etc or else i would be sat at my laptop 24/7. is this unfair that i use a script? not at all, i work full time so dont have the time to sit clicking 1000s of times a day and isnt the whole point of mafia wars to take out rival families? i have just heard today that zynga are monitoring accounts for use of scripts, is this a true statement and can they really close your account down if you are using them?
