Assassin-a-Nator Updates: v0.29b

Share:

If Zynga doesn't give me much to write about, I can always count on Team Spockholm to fill the void. There have been more updates to the Assassin-a-Nator and it is now on version 0.29b (v0.29 was out for a very short time and there was a quick fix). For basic instruction on installing and using the Assassin-a-Nator, go here.
A Facebook "Like" button was added in the upper right corner. Team Spockholm has over 265K fans! They have many more users than this so it's time everybody that uses their tools likes their page.
If you aren't one of the 265K + players who have liked the Spockholm Mafia Tools Fan Page, you can do it now from the Assassin-a-Nator without having to go back to Facebook. Just click the like button. If you're already a fan, it will be shadowed and contain a check mark. Don't worry, contrary to rumors, Zynga will not ban your Mafia Wars account for being a fan. If you use these tools to help your game, the least you can do is show your support and like the page.
There is now a Rival Mode. The Fightlist button now has three toggle options between the 3 different Assassin-a-Nator modes. Click on the Fightlist Mode button until you get to the Rials list.
When in the Rivals Mode, only targets that are on your Rivals List will be attacked. You can have up to 20 targets on your Rivals List at a time. I don't have any Rivals so I randomly selected 10 players off the fightlist for the example below. Here is my newly created Rivals List and you can see they are all displayed as being alive. The Assassin-a-Nator seems to jump over to the list of "Your Attackers". The issue has been reported. If this happens, it's best to close and start the run over.
All ten of them are actually iced. This is something fighters have been asking Zynga to fix for a long time. The action log will say "Enabling Rivals mode" before it starts attacking.
If you unframe Mafia Wars directly from your Facebook account you will be given additional options before you begin. Most of us have experienced problems with popups when playing in an unframed game. The Assasin-a-Nator is no different. The workaround to these unframing issues is to unframe from http://www.mafiawars.com or use the http://bit.ly/mwunframed link to go there directly and arrive to an unfrmaed game. If you like to save your popups, the Assassin-a-Nator will give you these instructions in the action log before you start your run.

There are some additions to the FAQ page. The links to my update posts have been added. How cool is that? Thanks Team Spockholm!
There is also a "Known issues" section. We can see that banking in New York is no longer possible. This is due to a bug with the healing option. In some cases healing was causing travel to New York. Players Assassin-a-Nating in other destinations with the bank feature enabled found all there New York cash got banked. To prevent this from happening, banking in New York was disabled.
Players who haven't updated FireFox and are using version 3.x were finding that they would getting a notification popup which would stop the Assassin-a-Nator. If you still haven't made the switch, you will now get a message in the action log rather than a popup.

[18:29] We have detected Firefox 3.x. This may be a problem with this spocklet, you should consider upgrading. Your browser is reporting the following:  Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110701 Firefox/7.0a1

In version 0.28, the Popup Log was added. It didn't log Revenge Popups but some players requested they be added. In the Fightlist Mode, the Assassin-a-Nator will attack players who steal your ices if you have the Revenge setting checked. When using the Target List Mode or the Rivals List Mode the Assassin-a-Nator won't do this. Now you can go back and beat up on all those people who had the nerve to steal your ices.
The following image was made by Pistol Pete and the caption was "Who says popups aren't annoying". These are all from less than 30 minutes of fighting. Zynga really should give us an option to turn our ice and revenge popups on or off. Team Spockholm does!

  1. OK so I'm using the 0.29b version it Rivals list mode and it doesn't seem to be working all the time. I double checked my rivals list by hand (gasp!) several times that I can bet them all, the when I use the assasinator I'm losing some matches and it might actually be fighting people not on the rivals list.

  2. Ok so I tested it again with both Firefox 5.0 and Google Chrome in two cities, Brazil and New York. The assassin-a-nator is not just attacking the rivals list, it attacks the rivals list then moves on to the rest of the list on the page.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here!
