This & Next Week 6/24/2011

Share:

The Official Mafia Wars Blog has posted their second installment of This & Next Week. They even added a bug fix section. I hope they continue with this as it's nice to get a glimpse into what next week will bring. There were a lot of things released this week and they got most of it. They forgot about the Time Travel Crates and the release of the Assassin-a-Nator.

Here are the bug fixes. Originally they planned on listing all the bug they are "currently working on" but the amount of blog space that would take far exceeded the editor limits. I've posted about all the listed bugs so it's nice to see they were fixed.

BUG: A quest boss' health would sometimes regenerate before the 8 hour timer expired.
FIXED: Quest boss health now only regenerates if the player runs or the timer expires.
BUG: Players were sometimes unable to buy items from the Brazil jobs page even though they had enough money.
FIXED: Players with enough money are now able to purchase the necessary items.
BUG: Certain tasks in Mission: Blood Money were showing up completed and players were unable to collect the associated rewards.
FIXED: This is no longer a problem for players.
BUG: The fight window was displaying incorrect attack and defense stats when turning boosts on & off.
FIXED: The fight window now displays the correct stats. It is important to note that this was just a display issue that made it appear that the boosts remained enabled even though disabling them really did eliminate their effect. Since the correct stats were being used by the fighting system while the wrong numbers were being displayed, no player actually ever had an unfair advantage in fights.

Here is what to expect next week. Once again I will translate for those who don't understand the Zyngon language.

Steal Of The Summer
It's summertime, and the stealin’ is easy! Get ready for a super blowout sale of most items in the Marketplace. You’ll especially want to take advantage of this sale because, when you buy 15 items, you’ll get a sweet mastery item for free!
Translation: After the Big Ripoff and the Collector's Edition Loot Event, you shouldn't have any Reward Points left. These events were created so the hoarders would end up with a Reward Point balance of zero. We now want to give you incentive to buy more. We say "most items" because the ones you would want to buy will not be on sale. We are throwing in a loot item for every 15 purchases to keep you spending.
Death By Ice
Who is the strongest Family out there? A new icing event will put Family strength to the test to determine which is the coolest in Mafia Wars. Family members must ice enough players throughout the week to earn four levels of mastery items that will be awarded to everyone in the Family. Extra special rewards will go the top 10 Families, so start working on your strategy for how you'll dominate in this test of your Family's power.
Translation: Haven't created a Family because you don't want to spend 50 Reward Points? This should give you incentive. You can't be the best if you haven't registered. We are hoping all the Families with more than 100 players will create additional Families so we can get even more of your hard earned Reward Points.
New Mission: Black Market
Blonde boss Lisa Jennings' little sister has been kidnapped in the Big Apple. You’ll be handsomely rewarded with a Widow Knife (52 attack, 150 defense) for bringing her back.
Translation: We have to have at least one new event, right? We've heard about this so called Event Fatigue Syndrome but we think it's a myth.
New Mystery Bags
Boosts are coming! Send friends the new mystery bags and they could get a crazy amount of rare fighting boosts. The combined strength of these boosts would make Popeye trash his entire supply of spinach!
Translation: We just know you love those boosts and new Mystery Bags will give us an excuse to give you more of them in hopes you won't notice the decrease of the good stuff.
New Operations
Listen up, smooth operator. Gather your wingmen and work together on new challenges to gain big loot!
Translation: We don't want you to ever master the new Districts in Brazil. We had to come up with a different way for you to spend your energy. This Assassin-a-Nator is killing the fightlist so we hope more players will utilize their stamina while searching for Operations.
Fourth Of July Items
Before you fire up the BBQ, be sure to check out the Red Hot and Blue Items available through July 5.
Translation: All Holidays (excluding Easter) are a great excuse to create themed loot items. See translation for Steal Of The Summer for further explanation

  3. What families do you think would have a high chance to come in the top 10? I would like to join one!

  4. I don't understand people mocking zynga for trying to get people to spend reward points. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS GAME.

They are in business to make money, not to provide us a free game...

  5. Great post.... Zynga is lame

  7. Just like Combat Arms and many FREE TO PLAY GAMES they are PAY to win... This is not a public service and the game costs money to run and make. Web hosting is not free nor is the staff of "ELITE CODERS".

I find it funny you act as if new operations is so you won't use Assassin-a-nator even though Zynga does not care and it's not against the rules and Battlefield will be fixed as soon as darkam gets to it. Don't get me wrong I ain't paying one cent on this game, I have a job and a car and a life and bills and to buy FAKE GUNS AND CARs and FAKE MONEY when reality is HERE is just sad....

Anyways the jokes are not funny, and from looking at blog posts from the pasts where it shows you have TONS of RP and buy hundreds at a time makes me think why do you care??? You are a credit card player except you don't use your own money you just scam and fraud people into giving you cards and items and all since you run this blog and for some reason people LOVE to hook you up since you chose to use a picture of a female and all teh male gamers that just must be a big turn on.

    WHAT JOKES!!!!

    SAD.

  8. Whoever writes this blog I hope English is not their first language since their grammar is horrible and they seem to have problem using proper formatting and also can't spell...

What is a Zyngon???? Just pulling more words outta your bum, eh???

I think it's good they have added more operations and what is wrong with more missions?

It is not like you have to do every mission and I LAUGH when I see people crying how they got RIPPDD off buying them off to finish them... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO EVERY LITTLE THING...

This is a game. Games are meant for fun. I think most of you play for the WRONG reasons.

well I could go on for a long time but seems some of you have no common sense.

Take a chill pill... maybe get some hobbies... Try going to the bar, having a few drinks, smoke a doob.... I dunno...

  9. @the anonymous douchbag. If I had time to edit my posts for grammar, I would. Content is what's important. I hope sitting in your parents basement trolling blogs isn't your primary hobby. Go back to playing mafia wars or grow a set of balls and sign your posts. If you knew Mafia Wars jargon you would know Zyngons is term used by spockholm to describe Zynga.

  10. Content is what is important???? WHAT CONTENT?

I make more money a week than you do a year. I don't live in my parent's house and I don't think you EVEN HAVE A JOB unless stealing peoples work and posting it on here is a job, one that DOES NOT PAY you besides all the RP and items people gift you on a FAKE game.

Never heard of spellcheck? OH NOES A NEW MISSION??? Guess you shoulnd't do missions if you don't like them, all angry new missions...

CONTENT??? You know how to take a screenshot?? LOL

You know how to steal links from other websites?

I love how you have contributed nothing to the tools of mafia wars nor anything just LEECH off of team Spockholm pro and other websites.

You can't code and I bet you don't even know HTML or XML (not real coding languages). I'd love to debate you but I have to go to work, maybe some other time. Enjoy your JOB of complaining about a FREE facebook game and taking screen-shots of everything in it and blogging it.

BTW you can't copyright other peoples work retard LOL.

Sign my posts? I ain't wasting my time and I don't use twitter or wordpress or any of that gay crap. My name is Bradley Smith, happy now?

Get a job please you are a drain on our society. I am sick of paying taxes just to support scum like you draining our economy.

We will debate later I have to work a real job, not a fake job where I just type on a premade blog and copy images over from a free FB game that you spend your parents' cash on.

Signing out for now, Brad Smitty (likes big ass n titties)

Born in 85 and can outcode you and outclass you in anyway and I get way more sex than you.

  11. You know, I think I've finally figured out why most of the "fun" has gone from this game.

You only get enough stats (energy and stamina) to actually "play" the game for a little while each day, but then you have to spend hours "hunting" for things that will let you play, and "collecting" and "begging" things that will actually let you play.

With all of the extra junk Zynga's thrown in the game over the past few months, they really should do something about increasing the actual core "game play" (jobs, fighting, robbing) time. Instead, they've actually trashed those somewhat - such as through the elimination of the Loyalty Point "mini" energy packs thus causing many players to choose between wasting energy (sometimes in large amounts) or waiting and coming back in a couple of hours to get the hundred or so energy needed to "level".

One suggestion would be to allow players to roll over their energy *or* stamina (player's choice) when they level, to be added to the amount the player would normally get from leveling. To keep the strategy aspect of the game alive, require them to be alternated (if the player rolls over energy one time, they can only roll over stamina the next time), with an absolute cap of double their "max" at any one time. Could even require RP to exercise the option - say, 1RP per 100 points to be rolled over (make it too high and nobody will use it, since a full refill only costs 10RP - those that have many thousands of energy points or stamina will just have to make a choice).

  12. ignore em LL, they obviously have some misplaced personal vendetta vs you. Why would such people even be on your site is a mystery. You guys should learn to stop hating people you haven't even met.

  13. Btw. Zygon is not a word but it's meaning is:
A very nerdy person, place or thing. Often used to describe a result of the way someone acts.

Also zygon is a legal hallucionogen and depressant from Sweden. Common in all areas of America, paticularly in New England. If you havent heard of this drug you are probably mentally retarded or just hooked to Mafia Wars like a hooker on heroin

    Sincerely, Brad Smith.

  15. Nameless person I have no vendetta I am merely speaking facts. And one reason I come here is because all the Zynga bonus energy links and all the new items are always copied and pasted here so it's handy as well as all the things in missions to name the main things.

    Later on,
    Brad Smith
