If you've been following this blog, I'm sure you can recall I've pointed out many times that the Game News section of our game was really outdated. The Community News was last updated over a year ago and the Release Notes just stopped on December 8th.
If anyone can attest to the fact that keeping up with news and changes in Mafia Wars is almost impossible, it's me. If Zynga doesn't want to appoint somebody to do it in-game, they should never designated a tab for it. We've seen the
Official Mafia Wars Blog evolve into a great source of information and I always questioned why they didn't just link it somewhere within the game. They did do this to the What's New game ad but you don't always see it and many players didn't know to click on it for that purpose. The latest What's New ad is also very outdated.
I was thrilled to see that the the Community News and Release Notes pages above have been obliterated from the game. They served no useful purpose and only made Zynga look lazy. Now when you click on the Game News option, you will be directed to the Official Mafia Wars Blog.
This is a great improvement and should help new players learn more about what's going on in the game.
