Experience Points For Losing Fights

In my review of the new Fight Module, I pointed out that we now get experience for losing fights (1).
 The big question was if it were intended or a Zynga mess up. I found this forum thread and Cerulean Master answers the big question by making an edit to his initial response. It's intended that we gain 1-2 experience points when we attack and lose a fight.

This is intentional. Loosing a fight will award 1-2 XP.

    So what now for winning a fight you get 1-6 XP. For loosing you get 1-2 XP.
    So there is a chance you'll get more XP for loosing than winning? Another dumb one!

    So for winning you get 1-6 XP (average 2.4 XP) and for loosing you get 1-2 XP?
    Now you have a great chance to get more XP from loosing than winning?
    How pointless!
