Assassin-a-Nator Family Name Change

Share:

We have talked about Merbeast in the past. He is a player that has a problem with me and the PAC. He readily admits to using scripts but has a problem with the Assassin-a-Nator Family. He felt it necessary to make this post on the Zynga forums. Keep in mind that Martin and Pete from Team Spockholm are members of the PAC.

My question for Nate is:
How do you feel about one or more of your PAC members participating in a family that is named exactly after a new fighting script that works with the new fight module? Do you feel like it's a slap in your face, poor taste on the participating PAC member's part, or just a blatant example of stupidity?

Of course Franky C had to chime in as well.

Zynga either stands behind their representatives and endorses their behavior as relating to Zynga, or they don't. Anybody could go to the Family Page, look under "A" and find the name of the tool in question. Why the pretense that these tools are not widely used and discussed openly by Zynga representatives?
Double standards for some people. I am surprised the clan is allowed to exist with that name.

This may be your last look at the Assassin-a-Nator Family name. It will most likely be changed because of all the complaining by people who don't actually have a problem with the name but the people in the Family. I'm a Mafia Wars player first and a blogger second. My main role on the PAC is to document and test things out as well as bring input from players that I get on my fan page. None of the members of the PAC were asked to change anything and we all applied as who we are. Many who weren't selected have turned into haters. There is nothing I can do about that. They will deny applying and say that PAC members are losers and whatever names they can think of. I'm sure they will feel a sick sense of victory when the Assassin-a-Nator Family name gets changed. This will be the first ever documented Family name edit since the inception of the Family Module.
If our name ends up getting changed, our logo created by Arvind Jain will not. We will always be the Assassin-a-Nators no matter what they call us.

  2. Well I don't care what they say it's the fact our name might get changed because of their antics. They won't be too happy if the Assassin-a-Nator stops working for them.

  6. If I'd let the bullies who picked on me as a child get to me like these who choose to pounce on "a name". I'd not be the person I am today. Forget them, they aren't even worth the time, the more time you give them, the less time you are playing. If they get the attention, they will crave more, if you ignore, they will eventually go away.

  9. I can kind of see their reasoning, it's a conflict of interests, of sorts. Although, I'm not saying they're totally in the right.

Of course, both sides taking petty digs at each other takes the issue off the table and just makes it a reason to attack each other. That seems to have become the main issue now.

  10. Obviously Jenn wants these 2 guy's cocks and they won't give it to her. From what I hear Jenn is so loose a fire hydrant would be small for her.

  11. normally i wouldn't care about scripters, doesn't affect my gameplay much, i can still find targets the bots haven't gotten to yet.. but this directly affects manual fighters, why even try when we know there's groups of 100 stam-loaded scripters off playing golf/shopping while their computer loads of thousands of ices? there's no way we compete w/ that and it means we won't get the rewards we bust our butts trying to get actually playing/clicking.. not cool {ASS}

  12. I am Bonacci from ZCFU and the Z-forums. I don't think anyone has a problem with PAC. They've taken on a thankless task and it would be great if it were to succeed. My opinion (and remember that Ziffers are individuals with their own opinions) is that a PAC member who also happens to host a blog like this is caught in an impossible situation. Zynga really has the responsibility to either endorse the LL blog (and others like it) and recognize it for what it is, or communicate in some way that maybe this blog (and sorry but Jenn, too) represent a conflict of interest in terms of PAC representation. Since Zynga has not done that, it has caused grief for Jenn and a lot of things that people might wish hadn't been said.

We don't boycott the LL blog, nor do we try to dissuade people from reading it. If it's what Jenn does to earn a living and/or finance her MW game, she has the right to host it; she's been doing it long before PAC was even conceived.

Our goal is simply to have some definite guidelines that apply to everyone. Nobody wants to see LL drop off the map. But we would like to see consistency. It doesn't have to be "us" vs "them". The problem is Zynga in allowing the polarity to exist. So let's not get the issue muddled. It would benefit everyone if we could all follow the same guidelines. There doesn't have to be animosity if everyone can have a common goal and work towards that.

FWIW, I am a proud script user and my hat goes off to the groups who bring us tools that allow us to enjoy playing MW instead of developing carpal-tunnel syndrome.

    Thanks for letting me post.

  13. I don't have a prob w/ scripts but at this point it is cheating manual players being that clearly sky-high stam/scripter accounts have a huge advantage in an event like this.. i manually log around 500 ices a day and my clan is a small but very strong group, we usually log thousands of ices a day, but it will not come anywhere near a group like {ASS} that is comprised pretty much solely of scripters loaded w/ stam.. this is not fair in any way.. which is why Z should stay out of 'family' affairs since they have no idea what they're doing and it clearly shows as right out of the bat they offer a home run to the ppl they tried to stop by changing the fight page lol

  14. Thank you Bonacci, that was a great comment. I hope people can see that your group which I've always enjoyed has different members with different opinions and you are all not the same, just like the PAC. I started blogging as a hobby and that is still what it is. I certainly don't earn a living from doing it, it's just enjoyable for me. I like documenting things. If Zynga passed out PAC guidelines, we would all be happy. I totally agree it's not a us or them and we should all be on the same side. No matter what I do, someone will have a problem with it. I never marketed this blog and my goal was never to have a large reader base why that happened, I don't know. It was actually more enjoyable when it was just my mafia and we all worked together. I've always made mistakes, the only difference is now I get heavily criticized for them. I can't expect everyone to like me and I'm fine with the fact that many don't.

  15. Bonacci here again. You guys are the ASS family now? :D For real?

Jenn, your blog is widely read and yes, you are are criticized. Sometimes you deserve it, and sometimes you don't. Add your PAC badge to that, and you become part of the Establishment. Except you're a renegade (that's meant in a good sense). It's never pleasant to read bad things about yourself, regardless of how thick-skinned you present yourself to be.

For me (and I'm guessing others "like me"), I would rather see the Z rules change to accommodate you, for the most part. That would give everyone more freedom. I don't agree with posting links, but it seems you're not doing that anymore, so kudos to you.

Regardless, you shouldn't feel as if you're hunted. Z needs to take care of the people who are representing them. I know you didn't sign up for all this; no sane person would. So maybe if we focus our efforts jointly on Z, we can all come out of it happy.

  16. This is {ZCFU}Classy Cassie.

As another opinionated Ziffer who speaks for herself, I'm with Bonacci and Jen and the {ASS}Family. When we descend to getting personal, all that happens is the real "haters" come out. Those "anonymous" posters who can't stand seeing someone like Jen and her crew, who really stays on top of what's happening in this game, making it readily available to all; who courageously discusses, in no uncertain terms, what's new in the script writers world; and I think, is sincerely trying to understand views that differ from her own.

There are so many of us who are grateful to Spockholm and other script writers who make this game playable, and I think it is well past high time that the ZForum, Zynga and everyone else recognize and reward those efforts.

Without their heroic and voluntary work, Mafia Wars would truly be dead. These scripts are available to any and all players, free of charge. Jen may have a conflict of interest where PAC is concerned, and her ability to link to this blog on the ZForum. That could be resolved easily by Zynga by permitting everyone to have those same privileges. It's not Jen's problem, it's Zynga's.

  17. {ZCFU}Merbeast here
I still Think Jenn is an overbearing nudge. She does what ever she wants then whines when someone speaks up about it.

  18. Being a reader of the MW forums it's seems's like every post that receives some kind official post to it from the Zynga guys suddenly gets hijacked with ZCFU posts continuing their vendetta against PAC.

Zynga knew who they were picking when they put PAC together, they knew about the bookmarklet and script writers, everyone else can see this too, throwing it in the face of Zynga on each bloody thread in the forums acting as if you're champions of the common player is a pointless effort.

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that the Zynga guys had Pistol Pete showing them his bookmarklets in a running state, it seems pretty obvious to me that the day bookmarklets are no longer a taboo subject and frowned upon by Zynga are getting closer and closer, derailing threads left right and centre and acting like whiny little bitches about it isn't helping.

Regarding conflicts of interests, I'm guessing PAC members were all players first, my guess is that that will always be the case, they are doing us a favour by spending their time trying to get Zynga to see the light of day, trying to stop this game from the downward spiral it's been heading in, for the love of god quit bitching about how they play, blog or script, it was a broken record months ago and it's not sounding any fresher today.

  19. This is not an issue with PAC, Ass clan, scripts or the use of them. It is an issue of whether or not forum members are allowed to openly discuss all things related to Mafia Wars. When anyone in any official position with Zynga (PAC included) does anything that allows that issue to be broached in the Official Zforum, there are those of us that will take full advantage of it and push the issue. The fact is, the use of scripts and bookmarklets are endemic the game and we should be allowed the freedom to discuss them on the Zforum. Go read that thread, now...every mention of the word Assasinator has been removed.

  20. have we forgotten that this is a GAME??? FFS get over it I support {ASS} and I hope they stay on top!
