I found an article on The Wall Street Journal All Things Digital site titled Exclusive: Zynga About to File for IPO by Kara Swisher. An IPO stands for an Initial Public Offering and is when a company issues common stock or shares to the public for the first time. There are some interesting numbers about Zynga's profits and what this move could do to increase them. We often complain and predict the demise of Mafia Wars but in the big picture it probably wouldn't phase Zynga in the slightest. They are doing just fine and will continue to do so without all the whiny Mafia Wars players.

For a privately held company maybe the numbers tanking in many of Zynga games are acceptable losses... if/when Zynga goes public you could look for the fat to get cut and changes to be made...
ReplyDeleteSELL SELL SELL!
ReplyDeletedoesnt seem like a viable LONG term company to me...oh well Zynga got the investors money before the numbers really dropped. Not just in MW but CV, FV, etc....easy to get "caught up" in the excitement i suppose
