Zynga has come through for the victims of the devastating tornadoes that hit the southeastern region of the United States last week. When you log into your Mafia Wars game, you will get the following pop-up
Zynga teamed up with Facebook and Direct Relief to bring medical aid to people affected by the tornadoes.
To help victims of the disaster and your make your character stronger, go to the Marketplace to purchase a Special Contribution Item called the Disaster Relief Truck. It costs 35 Reward Points and 100% of the proceeds will go to Direct Relief.
The stats of 112/70 are a nice bonus in addition to feeling good about helping. You can see there is still a bug in the Marketplace as it never tells you how purchased items improve your attack scores.Upon purchasing, you are thanked for your support and notified that your purchase will go towards helping survivors of the disaster.
You are also given the option to "Spread the word to friends". This is one piece of spam you will want to generate as it will remind your mafia members to help as well.
The Official Mafia Wars Blog made a post thanking the players who wrote to them suggesting the idea. Yesterday I told you about a topic on Get Satisfaction where many players banded together and requested this (1). It's really cool to see that it happened.

Sure, I'll buy three. Didn't need the RP's for anything much anyways.
ReplyDeletethe bug that doesn't show your attack score, it specifically only shows the increase of whichever score atk/def happens to be higher. so if u have 120k atk and 121k def and u buy any item, it will show the increase in defence, and vice versa.
ReplyDeleteThe players *banded* together (not banned together).

@Anon#1, that's not true. My attack score is a couple thousand higher than my defense score. I have never seen any item show an increase in attack and it was verified by some players who routinely buy Marketplace loot.
ReplyDelete@Grammar Nazi, would you buy that was a typo? :)
