Searching For War Assists

Most players who try to assist in wars end up finding they are too late. Most wars are over in seconds and it's almost impossible to find one in the news feeds that is still active. You can see the last one I attempted to help with. The post was only 10 seconds old and the War was over.

In the past I've always used the Operation War Hunter bookmarklet by Team Spockholm. Many are finding it's not scanning properly. Thanks to Martin, I have the work around for you. It all in the settings. Facebook is having issues with their API and results aren't returning properly. The default setting for "Posts/requests" is 100 and it doesn't yield any results.

You can see here if I change the Posts/requests setting to zero, I get a list of active wars. Martin explained that normally the bookmarklet sets the limit and if posts are below that value, they assume there are no more posts. By setting it to 0 it will make the bookmarklet keep requesting until the time limit is reached.

Once the scan is complete, click on "active wars" and a list of links will appear.

Simply click on the [War (NW)] link and an active war with spots available for helping should appear. You will find the war may have ended in the time it took for you to click on the link but most the time they are open.

Unless you were the last person to help and killed the target, you will have to wait until the war is over to get your reward. You are notified when you go to the War Page. According to the Zynga rules, we can only get loot rewards for the first 5 war assists we do a day. There is and has been a bug in which many players can collected unlimited loot items and are able to max out on war rewards.

Many are also noticing that they are getting multiple loot rewards for helping in wars. This will happen if you are the person to attack the last target. We all click fast in these wars because we don't want to lose the opportunity to another clicker. When this happens you end up with more loot items. If you aren't as lucky as some players and are limited in the number of war assists with rewards, it's good to learn what loot items you should go for. In addition to the achievements, that's incentive to help with wars.
