This isn't a new concept as we see this with Game Card and Virtual Gift Card purchases. They need to update the loot item as the Boulder Breaker is about the same as loot we can get just for playing. It's predecessor, The Big Bad Wolf , is now on the same playing field as Brass Knuckles.
If you spend $20, you can get a Set of Terrible Twos. Yep it sucks and is quite comical that you can spend $10 on a Game Card and get a much better item.
Now if you spend more than $20, you can get a Matchmaker which has much better stats.
If this item looks familiar to you, it's because it was offered as a Limited Time Marketplace item during Valentines Day 2011.
The offer says "Spend $21 an up" to get the Matchmaker. If you look at the options, you'll see you the next highest purchase after $20 is $40.
Here is my question of the day. Will players who have to pay taxes on their Reward Point purchases get the item if they buy the package that is priced at $21.10
(1)? I wasn't able to test this out. If not then Zynga needs to change the wording on the offer, if so then it's not fair to the other players who don't have an offer between $20 and $40.
There is no word yet on if you will get the item during times that there is a Reward Point discount offer. I'll have to wait until I get one to try it out. I will update this post if I get a discount offer while the loot offer is still valid.
