UPDATE: Cerulean Master responded to the Get Satisfaction post referenced below. It was on the Zynga Get Satisfaction and not the Mafia Wars Get Satisfaction site so he was delayed in seeing it. He is going to present the idea to "the team" to see if something can be done.
We all saw the debate over the Put 'Em On Ice Event coming when Zynga put the slow in roll. Many players found themselves 4 days behind the power curve as the timer didn't change once all players finally had the event.

I am sorry to hear about your discontent for getting until now the Put 'Em On Ice Event. I'm a daily player too and I totally understand your concern, since I got the Event yesterday too. However, let me tell you that this Event was being slowly rolled out this week to all of our players.
Colin, I was checking your account and I was really amazed to see what a great player you are, and I know time won't be a challenge for you to complete the Event. However, since I really want to help you and your satisfaction is my highest priority, let me inform you that I just added to your account 20 Hollow Points, 10 Health Kits and 20 Reward Points, for you to buy some Stamina Refills, since the Developers have informed us that the Event is not going to be extended more time, because the Event was created for 7 days and we released it in some accounts before only as a test in order to offer you without any inconvenience. I really hope this would help you somehow to have the chance to obtaining the Tundra Tiger, or the Ultimate weapon on the diamond level! If you want to know more about this please go to:

According to the players who got the shaft, this isn't fair because other players had 4 extra days to do the event. Normally this wouldn't be a big issue but 1,000 ices is a lot to ask of players. This is especially true when you take into consideration that scripts like Brawler are against the TOS. Is as if Zynga is encouraging us to use Brawler to get this event completed. Those who play by the rules are going to have a very difficult time finishing this event. The 4 day difference could mean make or break to many players. Yesterday, DViz Nana created a thread on Get Satisfaction titled UNFAIRness of slow roll out of MW ICING Event and shared it on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page. So far there are 117 likes but I'm sure we can get that number up by participating in the post. If they are going to slow roll then they should be able to code for timers that start when a player gets the event and ends once that player has the event for the set amount of time.

What I don't understand is why they don't test it in house, and then release to everybody at once? Why do they use players as a test bed? They must be really poor programmers.

ReplyDeleteThey may have tested it in house, but needed a larger test group to make sure that all of the extra fighting wouldn't slow down the servers too much.

HI all i have found that in the thread that zinga has put out and i have noticed with what they have posted in the game it self that to get each item you need so many ices to get the items here is what they say

Gold Mastery: 100 Ices 79/128
Ruby Mastery: 200 Ices 89/138
Diamond Mastery: 1000 Ices 160/130`
But i noticed for the gold level you only need 70 ices but it dosnt say this to get the item in the list of what you need so here is what i have seen and will see from here
Bronze Mastery: 10 Ices 59/108
Silver Mastery: 20 Ices 69/118
Gold Mastery: 70 Ices 79/128
Ruby Mastery: ??? Ices 89/138
Diamond Mastery: ??? Ices 160/130

ReplyDeleteYou need 70 MORE ices for a TOTAL of 100. Basically it's the same :)
For the GOLD you need a total of 100 ices. That included the 30 from Silver & Bronze mastery.

Not everyone needs the help of scripts to complete this event. Level 670, over 130K attack, defense. 1100 stamina. Haven't purchased any stamina refills. I'm 150 ices short of the diamond mastery. I'm playing by the rules and I'm almost done. If you're using scripts and can't even finish this... :smh:
ReplyDeleteadam: i have an issue with the new icing event, i was one of the less fortunate players at the tail end of the "slow roll out" and despite being informed by cs on the weekend that i would receive the 11 days that other players had, when it arrived on my home page i had only 7 days remaining on my timer

Daniela L.: Let me tell you that the timer in not working properly at the moment, even though your account doesn't show the rest of the days you will surely have them to complete the Event.
adam: so the event will last longer than the 6 days i have remaining, surely that will still mean an uneven playing field as the players who had it straight away will still be receiving more time?

Daniela L.: No, they will have the rest 6 days. The Developers have a record of the accounts that were updated late with the Event, so they will expand only those accounts time.

11 days for it seemed as an eternity at least for me. I mastered it fully by the rules clicking like the manic I am in all areas except for Brazil to be able to ice more often. I was done in less than 3 days. My stamina is 2060 now but was at maybe 1700 then. (Level 1500 something advancing quickly.. btw.)
