Ever since the new promotion bonus feature came out, a lot of players have been asking if there is a tool to help us find them. The answer is yes and it's called Event Scanner by
Spockholm Mafia Tools. This tool is more of a generic version of Stream Helper. Ever since Mafia Wars turned into a Spamapalooza, it's very time consuming to search your news feeds for individual types of posts. There are so many that you have to go through pages and pages of news feed. This tool will do the searching for you. For example, if I want to search for Golden Promotion posts, I need to look for posts like the one below that say "Get a great reward". These are few and far between as not all players have them yet.
If I find one and click on it, I will get the same reward as my mafia member if I'm one of the first 3 to do so.
Usually you find you are too late but it's still fun to try as you can get Skill Points, Reward Points and loot items.
Event Scanner will organize ALL Mafia Wars request types so it's a much easier way than scanning the news feeds as there won't be any non-Mafia Wars related posts. To start using Event Scanner today, follow the instruction below.
1. Go to the
Spockholm Mafia Tools Experimental Page and locate the Event Scanner bookmarklet.
2. Click, drag and drop Event Scanner into your bookmark toolbar.
3. Go to your Mafia Wars game and unframe it by using the unframe bookmarklet located on the
Spockholm Mafia Tools Stable Page.
4. Click on Event Scanner which is now located in your bookmarklet toolbar to activate. If you haven't given Team Spockholm permission to scan your news feeds for their other tools, click on "Ask Permission" before you start. If this has already been done, select the number of hours you want to scan and click "Start Scanning".
5. Wait for the scanning process to complete and a list of all the spam will appear. There are currently 14 different categories and you just have to look around to find the types of posts you are looking for.
6. Select the tab that corresponds to the category of spam you are looking for. Index is where you will find the new promotion bonuses. Click on the link that contains the words of the specific post you want and it's the same as if you were on your mafia members profile page. The Facebook ID's are also listed in case you want to go to their page. These aren't direct links so you will need to copy and paste to get there.
Use the lootladderevent tab to search for event posts and get those extra 15 items. The possibilities are endless.

ReplyDeleteJust got the bookmark and it doesn't load. Chrome ver 11.0. Just disabled MafiaWarsAddon thinking that was the problem. It just won't load in an unframed window for me. Are you guys using MTF Mafia Wars extension? I wonder if that is causing problems.
ReplyDeleteI open Mafia Wars, use the Unframe-MW, click Event Scanner, change Hours to Load to 0, hit Start Scanning....and NOTHING HAPPENS.

ReplyDelete@Anonymous.. Was that a joke? If you set the hours to ZERO, then yes, it's going to search back exactly ZERO hours. Set it to go back an hour or more, then watch the magic!
