Beat The Devs Boss Fight Event

Share:

We knew they would do something for April Fools day and here it is. It's a Boss Fight Event that features 6 Zynga employees who are responsible for many of our complaints. We can fight them over and over. It costs zero stamina and they do no damage back. The damage to us has already been done! What's super cool about this event is that it was presented to Zynga by the PAC during a workshop. The group presenting it included me, John Sweeney Jr., Misty Dady, The Reclusive Neurotic and Joshua. John Sweeney actually came up with idea and wrote about on his blog in November of last year (1). We did suggest loot items for defeating the "Bosses". I'm not sure where these Developer Cards came from. It was a lot of fun to put together and after everyone listened to Chainsaw Chester for an hour about a War Module, this was probably a breath of fresh air!
Look for the Boss Fights on your Account drop bar. You can't miss the bouncing yellow "New" on top of it.
You will get the window that contains all 6 of the Devs that we can attack. Each one has a fan page as well.
Here is a look at all of them prior to attack.
When you defeat a "Boss", you earn their card.
Here are all 6 fights to include the Boss Health and their cards.
The Kid
Health 14,000
The Professional
Health 15,000
Slacker Jack
Health 15,975
The Mad Gifter
Health 12,000
Blue Eyed Nate
Health 17,000
Art Gamer
Health 10,000
To look at the fan pages for each developer, click on the green "Fan Page" button or you can "like" them right from the Boss Fight" window. Since Blue Eyed Nate represents the community, I'll use his as an example. You can leave comments and view recent history. So far 3,148 people "like" Nate.
Thanks to Da Irish Kid for the screen shots of the developer cards. My account is bugged and I don't get them when I defeat a Dev.

  3. I freakin love it! Yay John for the idea and Yay group 7 for the input and presentation!

Furthermore I LOVE the incorporation of the rainbow unicorns that everyone freaked out about last year.

Wait, what? No stamina? No damage? Well that's apropo!

  5. This was an idea that group had me spellbound about and thought it was a great idea when we discussed this in SF. I know it was proposed for April Fool's Day but I did not think they would do it! Originally we had submitted for only 4 people but guess Zynga decided to have 6 instead and focus on the people (types) that seems to drive people nuts about the game. :D No stamina used! Almost no health damage from fighting the Devs (except for that last one named The Kid who crushed me! I've had a lot of fun for an event this time. ;)

This obviously shows that Zynga is listening to PAC, and this has been so much fun I was screenshooting everything for posterity. This is a keeper.

The Unicorn for Art Changer based on last year was hilarious, it was something that freaked out so many people last year.

But internally, *Sets a Press conference in office* "Mafia Wars Staff: YOU'RE FIRED. THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU. I WANT YOUR LETTERS OF RESIGNATION ON MY DESK BY 1 P.M. TODAY! GET OUT OF MY OFFICE. GOOD TIME WASTED FOR A MEASLEY JOKE"

(ahhh) now that's off my chest, keep it up zynga.

  11. Yes, they do damage to us. Depending on your level, they can do a lot. I'm a lower level so they did a lot of damage to me. It cost a lot of money and a lot of items used in boss fights to defeat the Devs. The playing cards should have done "something" for us.

  14. How old are you FionaWG? 8? This is a childish event with no pay off. It isn't fun and not all that clever. I'm glad to know that PAC was behind this stupidity. Were they also behind the nonstop mini-games, mini-energy packs, added pop-ups and massive spam requirements?

  15. actually, you are wrong, the devs do do damage. not that i care. it's a great way to get your health low enough so when you do jobs in brazil, no one can steal your Real. honestly though, this is just a stupid event. it's clogging my wall and you get nothing from it. how do i feel better by injuring my clicker finger from over use? i am getting so sick of mafia wars. i wish the advisory committee flat out said no more mini games.

  17. Do we actually get the cards for our inventory, or r they fictitious? Would be kinda cool if it was a collection set.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The cards are fictitious because the event is only running for one day.
