Let's face it, nobody really likes the Mafia Wars Valentine's Event and we're stuck with it for for the next 9 days (woo hoo one extra day was added). There are still a lot of bugs and a lot of complaints. I recommend most do what I've decided to do. Ignore it, get your Broken Hearts when they come and redeem what you have at the end. The name Broken Heart is quite fitting for this event with emphasis on the word Broken. Let's take a look at why the rewards are not worth the efforts of frantically collecting Broken Hearts and feeling frustrated when you don't even get credit for them.
Reward #1: Lovebird
The stats of the Lovebird suck (52/36). There are many attack animals in game that are much better. Don't waste any of your Broken Hearts on this item as it will only decorate your inventory. The Sea Eagle is the top attack animal that is available in game. Do jobs in Italy Region 8 to get as many as you can. The Meadow Viper is another attack animal that beats the Lovebird and these can be found by doing jobs in Italy Regions 6 and 7 as well as from fighting. Sadly, even the Diamondback from Las Vegas beats this one.

Reward #2: Bulletproof Heart
The Bullet Proof Heart is a defense Armor item with stats of 42/67. Not very good when you can get the Swiss Guard by doing jobs in Regions 7 and 8 of Italy and that beats the Bullet Proof Heart by +2.

Reward #3: Total Eclipse
This one is a little bit better with the stats. It's an attack vehicle and the item in game that comes close to it is the Venomous that drops when fighting. The Total Eclipse beats the Venomous by +1 but just look at it. I don't know about you but I would be embarrassed to show up to a fight in this thing! Because the Venomous is much cooler looking, I'm going to declare it the winner.

Reward #4: Cardiac Arrest
The forth and final reward is worth it as far as stats go but you would have to be very obsessed with collecting Broken Hearts just to get 3 of them. With things not adding up accurately, it will cause unnecessary stress for those who try. Remember you need 150 Broken Hearts just to get one. The best defense weapon we can get is the Tainted Blades from fighting and the Cardiac Arrest beats it by +15. Trying to get 3 of these would add +45 to your overall defense score but that's not going to make you a bad ass so is it really worth the trouble? I think not.

What we really could use is a defense vehicle that has a higher score than the best one we can get from doing jobs. A Popemobile, Really!? Couldn't they have come up with something cooler or more mafia related? This thing didn't help Pope John Paul II in 1981 when he was shot 4 times and it's not really doing much for us.

ReplyDeleteI don't care 'bout the Valentines items...I'll get what I get...but I am NOT getting that girlie heart car (I don't even think girlies want it)...we need some cars with flipout guns and flamethrowers and junk...some James Bond type stuff, right!
