Reserve Chute Drop Rates

Share:

Yesterday when reviewing the Challenge Mission: 50,000 Feet, I didn't see any Reserve Chutes dropping for robberies, fights or jobs. Today I had some time to do larger runs and now I have some numbers for you.  You will need a total of 311 Reserve Chutes to completely master this event.
Here is a small Brawler run and I got 13 Reserve Chutes using 2,472 stamina. My win rate was 94.9% giving me a drop of 0.55% (13 Reserve Chutes divided by 2,348 fights won).
The Reserve Chutes seem to drop as a bonus every 3 or 4 robbing boards. Here is a large stamina run of 11,412 and I got 20 Reserve Chutes giving me a drop rate of 0.18% (20 Reserve Chutes divided by 11,412 stamina points used).  The robbing win/loss ratio doesn't matter because you get a loot item every time you clear the board regardless of the outcome of the robberies. I used my energy account so my win lose ratio is much lower than on my main account.
I'm not seeing Reserve Chutes drop very well from doing jobs.  I used the old Mugger job to try to maximize the amount of Reserve Chutes I could get by doing a low energy requiring job.  Zynga must have caught on to this little trick because out of 1,585 jobs (3,170 energy used), I only got 1 Reserve Chute!  That was on my main account so I wish I could get a mulligan for that.  Now I have an additional 816 Butterfly Knives to deal with.
Using my energy account, I did a 5,000 job run in Las Vegas and didn't get any.  I repeated the run doing a job in Italy and got the same results.  I didn't need to use the calculator to get this drop rate. Anyone can easily see that it was 0%!

To be sure that RepeatJob wasn't logging them, I took screen shots of my Reserve Chute number before and after the runs.  Somehow I lost one of them! I double checked to make sure I didn't get them mixed up and I didn't do anything else besides the jobs.  I guess we can call this an unidentified Zygna error.
To sum this all up, the best way to get your Reserve Chutes is to use the free gifting system.  Here is a run of JGrabAllGifts and I got 12 of them.
Between the Reserve Chutes we can collect every 12 hours from the game and using JGrabAllGifts, the Link-a-Nator, the Get-a-Nator and a refined Facebook Search, the Challenge Mission 50,000 Feet shouldn't be very difficult to finish in the 6 days we have left.

  1. Just to let you know in case you missed this. You say stay on the Green Heat Bar, but even though the Heat goes up the requirement for chutes does not! :) only the energy needed goes up :) i hope this is not a glitch because this will make it so much easier!

  2. Thank you Anonymous! I have made an edit to that statement. Maybe they did it on purpose since we didn't get any advance time to collect Reserve Chutes and it's only going to be available for a week instead of 3 like Challenge Missions usually are.

  3. I just had one drop in las vegas (ruby mastered) on the "Dig Up Links To Halloran And A Meth Ring" job. It was my third click so it is either good luck or its dropping better in LV now.

  4. Neither of those numbers is statistically relevant. I just got 5 out of 750 stamina which is a lot higher than 0.18%. :)

Not that it would really matter, since it's quite easy to get enough chutes if you have a fairly high level. I do this "challenge" mission easily on green heat and only go red if I'd waste my energy otherwise (E-Pack). One week is still a long time.
