Mission Impossible for Most Players

Lance Hayes, admin for the The Mafia Wars Wiki Fan Page and very active participant on the Zynga Forum Boards, posted a forum board link to let us get a look at the new Missions feature.
Punguin started a thread titled New Missions and posted an image of a Mission so you can see what they look like.  Once Missions are implemented on your account, you will have a Missions page to track and manage all of your Missions.
Al Catraz, Super Moderator, reports that Missions are currently available to a "very small percentage" of players.
Alien Calf posted additional images for us to view.
Angel Ayende post a Mission involving fights on The Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page.
And Rob Martin posted this one.
I don't have this feature yet but look forward to getting it soon.  The Missions seem pretty easy and the rewards seen great. I've been told there are many different Missions related to tasks in New York and Italy and that Missions in other cities may be available down the road.  There will be Special Event Missions as well.  The possibilities seen endless and these seem more fun that the now named Social Operations.  For more information, check the Customer Support Missions 411 and FAQ Page.

  1. Yagami9999 - If I'm not mistaken, missions ONLY trigger for anyone who have NOT completed New York OR Italy.

Most Heavy Hitters are long gone in New York, But we have D06-08 Italy to look forward to

  2. One of the goals for Missions is to give experienced players reasons to visit old content. The Missions are tailored to your progress in the game so even if you finished New Your and Italy, you will still get Missions but probably not as many dealing with job progression.

  4. There are three types of missions.

    New York missions
    Italy missions
    Contract missions

NY and Italy missions are only available to those who have not finished those (individually) cities. They only guide the players to completion and the only extra rewards they give are Loyalty and Victory Points.

Contract Missions are a lot more interesting, with far better reward payoffs (massive XP gain, nice loot).

  5. @Eike, LOL
@Q, I just got the Missions feature and I was required to do a job in New York as one of the objectives for a Mission. Perhaps it was a contract Mission but experienced players will have to do jobs in New York and Italy.

Contract missions will require you to do jobs in several cities but city missions are different. Go to one of your unaccomplished energy accounts and then go to NY or Italy. You will see that now you have access to other, City Missions. They are nothing great, like I said before the only rewards they offer are LPs and VTs.

  7. I have this missions.. and I am enjoying them. The city missions encouraged me to finish up Italy and do the last two boss fights that I'd been putting off. Managed to complete both in a few hours time.. despite still have glitchy bosses. While the rewards aren't the best, the missions are something new a different. Thus, they offer no time limit, least not that I see. Makes it a great addition the game for the casual player that only hops on for a few minutes a day.
My current mission is to build 2 items in my port along with start 2 wars. 10 more hours before I can build the second time to finish. I'm really looking forward to see what Z decides to do with the missions in the future.
