How My Gifts Are Clicked by Eike Meier

Share:

Eike Meier, wrote a detailed note on creating your own bit.ly account to help us all get the most out of the Link-a-Nator.  Eike loves statistics so I'm surprised that he wrote a follow up to share his numbers with the rest of us who share his passion.  I've reprinted the note here and the original can be found on Facebook by clicking the title link.  I'd like to thank Eike for keeping us updated on this important feature of the Link-a-Nator.  Even if you don't care or like statistics, using bit.ly links from your own account will help everyone because there will be less tiny.url compromised links due to quota caps.

How my gifts are clicked by Eike Meier
Starting last week, you can use your own bit.ly account when running link-a-nator from team Spockholm.

The wonderful Mafia Loot Lady Jennifer (http://mwlootlady.blogspot.com/2010/11/create-your-own-bitly-account-for-link.html) has published an article on how create your own bitly account and use it in the link-a-nator.

I've been using my account for one week now, and the nice thing is, you can see how many click you got on each gift link. And since I am not only curious but also a statistic freak, what I did now was writing a small bmlet for the bit.ly page that collects all the data and gives me a nice list.
Now all I had to do is doing some excel stuff and here is the result of all.

First the boring part.

You see, 60-80 people click my links per day. That's a bit disappointing for me, as I always thought there where hundreds of people using Free-gift-get-a-nator, but well. As I cannot see the clicks through the bagman mugger, I may come maybe come to the 200.

Now for the more interesting part.

First noticeable thing, the cakes. No wonder for me, since the event just started a few days ago. Then there are still lots of people who still work on their Italian buildings, and also lots of vegas property parts.
Pignatas are also not much clicked, but they have crappy loots. The mystery shipment is quite useless - why should I take a random part, when I can select which one I take.

The "others" part are basically leftovers of the assassin-event, some tech plates and gun barrels.

If you want to see the full list, here it is:
Mystery Bags 75
Set of Terracotta Tiles 67
Birthday Cake 55
Stone Column 55
Cupcake 43
Wedding Cake 41
Italian Hardwood 41
Marble Slab 36
Special Part 28
Super Pignata 27
Mystery Shipment 9
Slot Machine 8
Gun Barrel 8
Casino Dealer 7
Construction Tool 7
Concrete 6
Steel Girder 4
Cinder Block 4
Tech Plate 3
Bellhop 3
Poker Table 3
Dried Clover 2
Golden Tiger 2
Acetylene Torch 1
Dead Bee 1
Chef 1

537 gifts in one week. Great thanks to the link-a-nator and free-gift-get-a-nator.

I'll keep track of the statistics!
Eike

  1. Why are people not putting up/taking RED MB...I always get both added attack and defense when I collect them...I also slip my runs so I get it twice...RED MB isthe way to go for me...unless I need parts or cakes and such...Thanks, Patterson.
