More Free Reward Points

Share:

3 days ago I reported about an in game advertisement for Tom's of Main in which we were bribed to watch a video in exchange for 2 free Reward Points (1).  Today there are two new advertisements just like it.  The first one is for Psych a television show and we have to watch a video and take a quiz that tests our knowledge of 1980's music.
When you finish, you have the option to let your friends know how you did by posting your results on your Facebook Wall.
I only got 60% but decided to post it anyways so people would know about the free Reward Points.
Mike Nestor of The Informant Podcast took screen shots before and after he took the quiz.  As promised, he got the Reward Points.
The next advertisement is for AT&T.  They didn't put much effort into the home page message.  There isn't even a graphic, just a blue link.
This is just a video and while it's playing you need to vote for your favorite U-verse feature.  It's not like I paid attention to the video and understand any of these feature to have a favorite.  I was too busy figuring out how to pick one of them.
You need to hover your mouse of your favorite one and then you will have the option to pick it.
When you finish you get a message like the others that says "You've earned your Reward Points".  The problem here is we are never told how many Reward Points.
Fortunately, Mike also took screen shots before and after this one.  As suspected, it was 2 Reward Points, the same as the others.  I'm not sure if these video type advertisements are only for US residents but it does appear to be the case as many of my friends from other countries don't have them on their accounts.

  1. I live in Canada and don't have these on my game. So, I'm guessing it is only for US residents.

If you read this, would you mind posting the URLs to these advertisements to see if that works, MW LootLady?

  4. In answer to the question about why always US promotions, it is because it is only US companies that are signing up for these deals.

Zynga can't force an advertiser to open up to a market overseas when there is no real prospect of a sale.

The recent Netflix.Ca promo is an example of this principle in action - you could only take advantage of it if you were in CANADA.

Therefore, if you want promos in YOUR COUNTRY OF CHOICE, then you need to talk to advertisers THERE and get them to sponsor the game.

I also think it wouldn't hurt Zynga to market themselves a little more aggressively out there too, but I would rather see them clean up their game(s) first, wouldn't you?

  5. not advocating breaking any laws here...
but aren't there programs (software) out there that can mask your IP address as a USA IP, and then be able to surf, click, stream US-restricted items anywhere else in the world.

It so hypocritical, how the US has free speech and non-censorship, yet, there is so much you can't access when you're outside the US. Just try watching any SONY video on YouTube. "This video is not available in your country."
