"It's turkey time! Get your mafia to join you for the Don's Dinner. When 9 friends accept their invitations, you receive Wild Turkey. "Without warning or notice a new promo has been added to the game. Some guy named Don is making dinner and the invitation is for YOU +9.
To invite your friends, click on "Post Invite" to generate a request that will be posted directly to your mafia members wall.
Remember you only need to have 9 friends accept your request so try to be selective and reduce some of the unnecessary spam. Randomly sending requests will yield you a lot of these error messages. This happens when the mafia member you send an invite to is not one of your Facebook friends. Players with a large mafia will get this one a lot.
If you miss the pop-up or want to return to check on your status, look for the banner on your home page and click "send Invites".
You can also get there when you accept invitations from friends by clicking on "Start Yours".
When you arrive at Don's house, you will be greeted by his friendly butler.
Don't let Don fool you, he really isn't that serious. His image on the invitation was just a rouse to get you to come to what you thought would be a serious dinner with your mafia. He's very laid back a passionate about his favorite dish.
To wet your appetite, feast your eyes on the main dish.
All kidding aside, there seems to be no purpose to this promotion other than spamming the walls of your favorite mafia members. I stepped away from the computer for 2 hours and when I returned, I had 53 of these things on my wall.
I'm one of those types who likes a clean wall and I'm going to have to forget about it for a few days. I don't have time to delete all these posts.
I sent out about 20 invitations and checked on my status after 2 hours and only 3 had accepted. I can't blame them if their wall looked anything like mine.
Bossy Don of TopMafia.Info figured out a cool trick that would eliminate all the spam if everyone would use it (1). After you click on Post Invite and your request pops up, right click on the part that says "Let's devour Thanksgiving Together!" and copy by left clicking on "Copy link address" or "Copy Link Location". Go to your wall and post the link.
It's that easy. I returned minutes later and got notification that I received my Wild Turkey.
If you're the type who always double checks their inventory, make sure you refresh your game or the turkey won't be there.
I clicked on the image to see a larger graphic and my Wild Turkey looks different. I wonder what that's all about?
Things to note about this promotion are you won't get more than one Wild Turkey, it will automatically show up in your inventory when the 9th mafia member accepts your invitation and it will be all over for you. Helping your friends will be the only thing left for you to do. Thanks to Mike Nester for helping me gather up the screen shots to outline this promotion.
I don't buy your "power per level"-theory. In the end, a skillpoint is a skillpoint, no matter where you got it from. If you have 1500 ATK, you can beat people with less than 1500 DEF (simplified!), period. Your level is just some irrelevant number to this. If you make 7 levels a day, you are stronger than if you make 5 levels a day and buy 8 skillpoints.
ReplyDeleteYou can't say "you level up anyways", because when buying boosts, you still do, but at a higher level. You get your skillpoints earlier, which is the same effect as buying them. Or the other way round: if you bought 1 additional energy boost sme weeks ago, you would be 1 level higher today and have 5 more skillpoints.
There is one point you can argue against a boosted level: higher levels require more XP, so you have to put at 1-2 skillpoints per (boosted) level in En/Sta to keep levelling with your current pace.
But you still get 3-4 points to distribute in ATK/DEF for 7-10 RP, which is a better deal than skillpoints or even speeding up the timer (because every targeted robbery equals 11-15 fights you can't to instead).
Also if I buy a boost, I can get 1-2 skillpoints by mastering a job (or vaulting a collection) earlier, which also helps. I would get them "anyways", but if I get 2 energy today instead of in 4 weeks, it will be refilled over 200 times until then.
To make it short: a skillpoint today is better than a skillpoint tomorrow.
Yes, but a skill point today AND a skill point tomorrow is even better still!
ReplyDeletethere is a nerf going on with this event
ReplyDeletewhen frinds post on accept link it says that the evnt is closed
how can i post a complain to zynga?
Jen, I'm disappointed that you ignored all those Invitations. I'm sure you have many fans, friends, and low level players (with very few friends) that can use your help (which, of course, you do very well with your blog). But here, clicking the "Accept invitation" button, will help them get their turkey.
ReplyDeleteMyself, I took the time to answer every invite (yes, there were a LOT) but as I did so, I also posted my Link-a-Nator links in the Comment section. So, hopefully, they sent me back gifts as well. Therefore, we're BOTH successful.

@Walt, I hope your joking! That was after 2 hours. Everyone in my mafia knows I don't have time to send gifts back or do stuff like that. If they don's like it, they can remove me. I barely have time to play. I actually did one better than get them one more party for their dinner. I showed them how to make their own link to post to their wall and be done with the event in seconds! If they don't read my blog than they shouldn't be in my mafia anyways.
