Mission ID by Team Spockholm

Share:

We all have issues with the slackers we see on our Social Missions.  If one person doesn't do their part and the initiator doesn't remove them, the mission will time out and nobody will get any loot.  Lets face it, the exp/energy and exp/stamina ratios for the mission jobs really suck and we wouldn't be doing any missions if it weren't for the awesome loot rewards.  No profile information for any of the players is listed in the game so all you can do is wait for the timer to run out and clear the mission from your log.  This problem has been solved by Team Spockholm Mafia Tools.  They have created a bookmarklet that will identify the Facebook profiles of all the helpers on all the missions. problem is there is not much we can do about it because there is no way to contact the players who aren't doing their part in the mission.

To start using Mission ID today, follow the steps below.  If you are new to using bookmarklet
programs, review my articles on Bookmarklet Installation and Common Problems.

1.  Go to the Spockholm Mafia Tools Experimental Page and locate Mission ID.
2.  Click, Drag and Drop Mission ID into your bookmak toolbar.
3.  Go to you Mafia Wars game and unframe it.  You will need to use the Unframe-MW bookmarklet located on the Spockholm Mafia Tools Stable Page to do it.  All Facebook framing around your game will be gone if you did it right.
4.  Go to the missions page and from your bookmark toolbar click on Mission ID again to activate the program.  The Facebook profile ID numbers of all the helpers will now appear underneath the pictures.
Now it's up to you to decide what to do with the information.  You can either send a message directly to the slacker and ask him or her to speed it up and finish the mission.
Or if you don't trust they will respond to your request (they already demonstrated slacker behavior), you can figure out who the initiator is and ask them to remove the slacker.  The bookmarklet can't list the initiator Facebook profile because it doesn't include an image.  Maybe Zynga can change that for us.  To determine who the initiator of the mission is, check the mutual friends of all the helpers and hope that there is only one person in common.  In the example above, I was able to narrow the possibilities down to 2 players.
Send the potential initiators an inbox message in hopefully they can remove the slacker in time.  This potential initiator is kind of cute.  Maybe he will write me back!
There wasn't enough time and nobody responded to my messages.  My mission expired and I cleared it from my log.  Next time I spot a slacker, I'll use Mission ID sooner.
Thanks to Team Spockholm for writing this much needed script and to Adriana Drudik for suggesting the use of mutual friends to locate the initiator.  I'm lucky to have such smart people in my mafia!

  5. I hope you realize that many of the "slackers" are more frustrated than you are. Zynga has screwed up big time and won't let us finish missions we started. Then we get removed or the mission expires...and not because we didn't try. It is NOT because of being a "slacker" but because Zynga's missions are screwed up!!! My "start job" has been frozen for 24 hours...:(

  8. It should give you the MW profile of the initiator, from there you can use another bookmarklet 'switch' (Spockholm 'stable' section) to get at the FB profile !!
