Arun's Mafia Helpers/Mafia Task Force Tool Bar

Share:

Arun has new hosting and a new domain for his Mafia Wars helping tools. Go to this Mafia Task Force discussion thread to get the new bookmarklets and read all about it.  Yesterday I showed you where to find the alternate bookmarklets for Aruns's Mafia Helpers (1), today you need to delete the old and add the new ones.  Click HERE for instructions on how to do that.  You can find the new working bookmarklets on the discussion thread linked above.

The new website is called Outpost Mafia Tools by Arun.  The url where you can find the bookmarklets is http://codeoutpost.com/.
Today I will show you how to install the Mafia Task Force Toolbar.  There is a Google Chrome Extension version and FireFox a Add-on.  I've been using both of them for a few hours now and everything is great.  Both were easy to install and everything I need to play Mafia Wars is in one spot.
Chrome Extension
Recently I've become a big fan of Chrome so I will talk about this one first.
1.  Make sure the browser you are in is Chrome and go to the Google chrome MTF Mafia Wars Extension page and click on install.
2.  Confirm installation and wait a few seconds.  The extension will need to access to the websites you visit because it pulls bookmarklets from several different websites.  Arun is currently looking into disabling the extensions access to browsing history.  In the meantime, you shouldn't worry about him checking up on what porn sites you visit.  He probably has better things to do.  If you are concerned, you can always disable the MTF toolbar when you aren't playing Mafia Wars (instructions below).
3.  When the installation process is complete, there will be a Mafia Task Force picture next to the little chrome wrench in the upper right corner of you window.
4.  Click on the Mafia Task icon to open up the toolbar and log in if you need to, and start using it.
This little box in your browser does so much.
General
On the top, it lists your current health, energy, and stamina amounts as well as the time left for your next Energy Pack and Toolbar Bonus.  The bookmarks to get to your Facebook and Mafia Wars accounts are also here.
This works the same as the Mafia Wars toolbar in that all you need to do to use activate your Energy Pack or Toolbar Bonus is click on it.  My Toolbar bonus was ready so I tried it out and it worked like a charm.  I was rewarded with a Mini Stamina Buff.
Bookmarklets
The next portions of the MTF Toolbar contain many of the popular bookmarklets that we use everyday.  Notice that bookmarklets by Joyka, Josh Miller and Team Spockholm are also here.  This should dispel any rumors that the script writers don't like each other!  To use any of the bookmarklets listed, simply click on them from this toolbar.
General Bookmarklets
 Gifting Bookmarklets
Attack Bookmarklets
Robbing Bookmarklets
From the toolbar I used Chucker and Brawler.  If the the main bookmarklets don't work, try the alternate ones which are both listed on the toolbar.
The Chucker
Brawler
To disable the MTF extension, simply left click on the MTF icon and click on disable.
For more information visit this Mafia Task Force Forum discussion thread.
FireFox Add-On
1.  Make sure the browser you are in is FireFox and go to the FireFox Add-on page for the Mafia Task Force Community Toolbar.  Click on the "Free Download" button and follow the instructions to install.
2.  Restart FireFox to complete the installation process.
You will get a confirmation that The Mafia Task Force Toolbar was successfully installed and it will now appear across your bookmark toolbar.
Just like the Chrome Extension, everything you need can be found on the toolbar.
There is also a second toolbar for intermediate to advanced level players who are good at using bookmarklets.  If you are at this level, you won't learn anything from me so I won't review the second toolbar. Click HERE to download it. To learn more about these FireFox Add-ons go the this Mafia Task Force discussion thread.

Many thanks to Arun for doing a great job and working so hard these past few days and to Michael Voelzow for posting all the links for the information above on my fan page.

  2. Why does the toolbar lack the Link-a-nator bookmarklet from Spockholm Mafia Tools ? I use the bookmarklet daily to update my free gifts for the day..i am able to help more people that way. I hope this bookmarklet also finds a way into the toolbar. Another thing i noticed was that i did not see alternate versions of Chucker/Brawler in my toolbar..may be its just me but the ones that came with the toolbar did not work (since Arun changed his host ?)

  4. @PJ if you read the forum threads that I linked, these are new and will have updates once the creators get a better feel of what players want. I believe the Chrome and FireFox toolbars were written by two different people so there are variations.~Jennifer

I personally would try to stay clear of the firefox toolbar...but however the chrome extension is an excellent bit of kit...my only complaint is that the bagman mugger bm is not on there.
what am I talking about. arun has done an amazing job AGAIN - SO WHY COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING ;)
