Dark Krypto, one of my mafia members made the following image for me to share with all of you.
This simple message helped me out. I always forget about the Fight Club source of energy. This is the way to go because if I'm within a few thousand experience points of leveling, I don't want to use my Energy Pack. I would end up wasting the additional 25% extra energy.
To get your Fight Club energy refill, go to the Marketplace, select Fight Club, and scroll through the pages of items until you find the Fighter's Energy Refill. It unlocks once you get to Level 20 of Fight Mastery. You can see I have 17,919 Victory Coins and it only costs 100. Once you buy it, you can't buy another one for 24 hours.
To demonstrate how valuable the Fighter's energy refill is, I used the energy to farm loot in District 8. You can see that I gained enough loot to increase my overall attack and defense scores by +44 and +32 respectively. The increase in scores will not always be the same for me or other players. How much energy you have and what's in your current inventory as well as diminishing returns on loot will cause this number to always be different. It just showed me that I need to make sure I remember to buy this energy refill everyday. If you haven't reached Level 20 of Fight Mastery, this should be an incentive to do so.
The unused energy from Energy Packs continues into the next level - so I always try and wait until I have only a few XP to go, then use it. Unlike other energy/stamina boosts, whatever you have left carries over! Doing it that way is almost like getting a bonus level!
