Mafia Wars The Movie

Share:

NME On-Line Magazine reports that Mafia Wars is set to become a movie.   There is so much I could say about this.  If they do make a movie out of our game, I can't wait for the fight scene.  How will the non-Mafia Wars players understand when some clown with a Cupids Arrow (37/27) arrives to the fight in a Whaambulance (25/5) with Thugs Bunny (50/28) and a Chained Hyena (20/16) in tow expecting to beat the dude with a Harpoon Cannon (88/51), Armadillo Gear (25/53), and a Rhinoceros (20/54)?  The drama will unfold when said clown gets butt hurt because he lost the fight and adds his opponent to the hitlist.
Maybe this will be a more serious movie like one of my favorites, The Lord of The Rings Trilogy.  In this version. The Clans (The Men) The Traders (The Hobbits) and The Script Users (The Elves) will form their own Fellowship and recruit as many Mafia Wars players from around the world as possible.  Guiding this Fellowship through Middle-Earth to San Fransisco will be an intelligent but psychotic Laser Squirrel.  The Battle between The Fellowship and The Zyngans (The Orcs), lead by Mark Pincus, The Zynga Bulldog and his circus of computer geeks (The Trolls), will be epic.  In the end, The Fellowship will return to the Shire and establish a good WiFi connection.
I will point out that the statistics in this article are not accurate.  30 Million people don't play Mafia Wars.  The author obviously doesn't read my blog.  If he did, he would know that it's more like 18 Million.  One of my mafia members, Paul Jones, points out that movie goers will be disappointed when half the scenes are replaced with this image.

Thanks goes to Gary Beach for sending me the link to this comical article.

Facebook app Mafia Wars is set to be turned into a film. There are currently few details surrounding the plot, but a movie adaptation is being developed by Radar Pictures, the company behind The Invention Of Lying and All About Steve.

Mafia Wars, developed by Zynga, is a strategy-based game in which players build a crime empire, and is played by 30 million Facebook users each month.
