Mafia Wars Down

Share:

UPDATE: It's back.

For reasons unknown, Mafia Wars is down. The image you get when going to the game says for 'planned system maintenance' but if Zynga planned for this they never told us. At the time of this post they haven't told us anywhere how long the game will be down. If it's a long time than they need to adjust all the timers. Who knows what we will find when the games comes back.

  1. I'm sure there will be more gruesome changes once the game is back up and running. Whenever they do anything these days it seems it is for the purpose of worsening the gaming experience.

  6. Usually planned system maintenance means that they are working on the servers to plan for update(s) in the future. This would make it something rather big. Say a new destination for example. Like they did when they took the fight system down a few weeks before fight carnage.

They must have been planning on the games future up until at least reasonably recently as it wasn't that long ago SA was closed down for good. They wouldn't be closing destinations unless they had something planned to replace it. I'm guessing the 2 are connected. SA is going to be replaced with a new destination and this will be the downtime to prepare for it's coming.

    1. Either that, or now that they have lured everyone back on VIP again from the big lies they told about carnage and how they did it for the good of the servers, they are gearing up to cut off even more server space for MW. I hate to sound like a pessimist but zynga has done nothing in the past few years to make me think any 'maintenance' is for the good of the game or the players.

    2. Well you might be right but I'm still sticking with my original thoughts on this one. If they had no plans for another destination they wouldn't have shut SA down and before most destination they have one or more periods of maintenance to prepare for it.
