Early Down Time?

Share:

According to Zynga, the scheduled downtime for today shouldn't start until 8:30PM Zynga time [1]. This is in about 6 hours from the time of this post. I tried to play Mafia Wars and couldn't. If the game ever comes back Zynga better extend all the timers. If they don't extend the timers than each player should receive 100 Challenge Mission and 100 Extortion Run parts as a sign of good faith. Some are reporting that they can still play so these issues aren't affecting all players.

I tried framed... Hello...Haven't seen this guy in a while.
I tried unframed...Damn!...I thought the servers were better now that fighting has changed?
I got desperate and tried mafiawars.com...hmmm...I wonder if the other 'Over 20 Million Players' have this problem too?
I tried unframed again....
I tried multiple times and got an endless loop of the same. What the hell are they doing? I finally gave up and went outside!

  1. I tried all of them as well & then emailed the Zyngoids to express my disapproval

  4. Tried all the same things and got all the same results. Agree about adding to timers or giving free advancement on Challenge Mission and Extortion Run.

    1. I don't do either of those items so parts are worthless to me.

  6. Zynga's systems managers have once again clearly demonstrated that they are not qualified to perform any task in a reasonable manner. Too bad there is not an industry award for "Worst Internet Company Anywhere in the World"

  7. Weird mini running OK on 50% of its players, main can't get in at all

  8. No way they will extend timers or add complementary parts for either event. If they did, it would mean they actually cared. Announcing maintenance and then commencing 7 hours early is just another proof that they couldn't care less about the players, haha... I am sure many players planned ahead according to this maintenance... but now... SCREWED again. Maybe the game will be back up earlier then what we were initially told... but still... this is just Zynga in a nutshell

  9. We have been saying continuously that the servers have NOT been improved by the Fight Carnage. It was probably good luck that they improved temporarily for you, so congrats :)

  10. A few years ago you could always count on an apology and some sort of compensation (make up consumables, extended time on limited time events) if the game went down for a reason, whether it was their fault or not, but their attitude towards players these days is nothing short of contempt. Their responses to problems are plastic and useless. Every person who has ever been given this poor treatment by them should work to put them out of business.

  11. Is anyone else silently wishing that they "accidentally" wipe their servers - sending everyone back to level 1? :D At least THEN their VIP benefits would be benefits again... especially VIP loot... they would actually be usefull :D

    1. Agree, in the current state this game seems to be damaged beyond repair - so that the most effective way to fix it is by giving everyone a fresh start (reset everything) and then focus on the problem that matters

Otherwise, they should stop creating more events and instead focus on fixing the actual game issues
      - more events = merely palliative care, increasingly ineffective life support that will eventually (and inevitably) fail in the near future
      - solving actual game issues (bugs, lags/performance issues, "evil" scripts, game balance issues) = the actual cure to the disease, which (sadly) it's rarely attempted by Zynga (when they do attempt e.g. Fight Carnage, they fail big time = worsening the state of the game by giving the wrong cure that exacerbate game balance issues, for a minimal gain in performance)

  12. I am along with everyone else!! No matter how I try to access I cannot get in!! They had better give us all and extension on the timers or some really good rewards for this one!!

    1. They won't because those who play 24-7 can still play, so they won't receive as many complaints as they would if no one could play. It seems to be only the ones who actually give the game periodic breaks that can't get in and even then it is hit and miss. Some can close the game and still get back in and others can't get in once they've closed it.

  17. Outside?? Hmm.... OH! That's the place I see when I go out to my car to go to work. Makes sense now. Can get in on my mini. Glad I played before work today...I'm on 978 straight days, I'd hate for it to appear that I'm anything less than a really sad person with no life.

  19. 10:11pm Chicago Time (CST) and I still can't access my account. I can't remember exactly when it kicked me off, but think it was around 3:00pm. I figured they were doing maintenance, but were too stupid to figure out the exact time for their notice.

I tried turning off all extensions and that didn't help either. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that they shut the game down for good and I can be done with this OCD-ish game playing habit. I was getting pretty close to quitting anyways, just wanted to wrap up a couple of things first. They're probably transferring everything to a really crappy server that won't be able to keep up with very basic tasks. I quit playing this game once before due to performance issues, wish I would have never started up again.

  22. So, the planned maintenance which was set to last between 3 and 5 hours, has just passed the 11 hour marker - AND it started 7 hours early... considering all things and knowing that it's Zynga, I think that's pretty good for their standards :)

  23. 9:40 am BST and it's still down.

But it doesn't matter. Fortunately, unlike many of the other commenters, I regard MW as just a game. If I don't complete the latest mission, that's ok. It's not killed or maimed any of my family. And there'll be another event along next week anyway, that I'll probably not finish either.
