Siege Log Issue: Failed To Defend

Share:

UPDATE: Farhan Rashid posted a successful defense on our fan page so this is what it looks like. I still think something is wrong as so many are reporting never seeing their HQ's with lowered shields or health.

The Family Siege feature has two components. One is to attack and one is to defend. We attack other families and must also defend against other families attacking us. The attack part seems straight forward. You hit the energy or stamina buttons to reduce the shield and then the health. Once your family takes it all down, the Siege is over. The question that is coming into play is how do you know when other families are attacking you? I've never seen it and based on many comments, posts and messages, neither has anybody else. It must be happening or else there wouldn't be families to attack and more importantly it wouldn't show up on the logs. I have yet to see a successful defend from anyone and all logs say 'FAILED TO DEFEND'. I don't know if this is a graphic issue and we are losing equipment points or if there are issues in the codes and attacks are not affecting the shield or health of any HQ's.  Jo started a thread on our fan page to address these unanswered questions. Please go here to contribute if you have information or theories that haven't been thought of.

  1. To defend your Headquarters power it up instead of joining a siege.

  3. so what exactly are we "losing" when someone raids my headquarters?

  4. I spent a lot of Stamina to keep our HQ shield intact, only to see a Family member post that the shield was down. Our GodMama rebuilt the shield before Health was gone, yet the next thing any of knew we had lost the siege. I think that should be 'lost' the siege, since I think the whole thing was as artificial as an Arena ice.

  5. I have also noticed that even though we have not been able to defend, the shield and health do not seem to go down much, about 10% on the shield is the most I have seen and the health meter never seems to go down at all

  7. We have defended every time, it has only gone down a smidge when we brought it back up and yet we have 3 new failed to defends....it is total BS!

  8. More and more convinced its as real as an arena ice.lol I too am unsure if they are real families. I am always a bit cynical about Zynga stats this is just like others. I suspect it is a scam totally. The loot is crap and the ratio not particularly good. If the family xp was ok it may be alright. I have advised my family to leave it alone and continue opening up if you havnt done so and or farming money or consumables.

  9. My family has failed to successfully defend against any sieges yet our shields are never even close to being completely down during the times of the loses shown in the logs. When I carefully read the Zynga in-game Siege explanation it states "Damage done to your Family HQ’s Shield during a Siege is not carried over beyond that particular Siege instance. Your Family HQ’s Shield is only reduced as it loses power over time." So if you take that literally in that what we witness is just your family's shield losing power over time (at a rate of -3% every hour according to the in-game explanation) and it's impossible to actually defend against an ongoing siege in real time. So it seams that as long as an attacking family uses energy & stamina to knock out the "existing" shield strength at the time they lay siege, they automatically win and your family automatically "failed to defend". Seriously a poorly designed game element!

  10. I'm thinking it is all artificial and contrived! and after some consideration and trying it out, USELESS. I've told my family not to worry over it.

  11. People have sure got tired of this feature in a hurry. Haven't been attacked in close to 4 days, and our family doesn't attack families on principle. I wonder how many dev hours were wasted on Siege when they could have been trying to figure out how to give fighters back their game.
