1 Week Strike Against the New Fight System

Share:

The Strike Against Fight Carnage Group is starting a week long strike today. To protest the recent changes to the fight system and show their disgust, members of the strike will not enter the game at all or click on posts from Sep 14 at 9:00am to Sep 21 at 9:00am in EDT. Although I'm not a fighter, I do see why fighters wouldn't like the updates and can understand their desire to take drastic action. When Zynga changed the gifting system, I remember the organized boycott from the trading community and in the end it got even worse and millions of player quit the game. The fighting community is not as large but neither is the player base so I think this will impact Zynga a lot. To check it out go here.

    1. Haha, yeah,it's really funny watching all these crying script babies squeel :P With the strike, perhaps the rest of us can finally get some decent game play - at least for a week :P lol

    2. The rest of us who. I don't use scripts and I am in the strike. I bet you are one of these people who don't spend any real money on the game. In other words you complain about the rest of us who actually pay for you to play. You freeloader. I bet you are a reporter too.
If you are not a reporter or freeloader then you have my apologies for the comment but do not assume that all fighters are script users. There are some manual players still left.

    3. Sad to say but your game will not change and it's not due to the strikers.
Fight Carnage was Zynga's feeble attempt to curb the demand on the servers but fighting isn't the answer.
For that, you need to look at the serial leveling e-ho's that keep a 24/7 barrage on the servers. Zynga thought that Fight Carnage was the only way to curb that usage but they were wrong. As you can tell, from the numerous complaints of people having loading issues now, while by the way, we are striking.
Another way Zynga could have relieved the demands on the servers would be to remove all accounts that no longer play the game and never disabled the app.
At one time, there were something like 7 million of us playing and at best counting all the e-hos, and some people have upwards to 100 accounts apiece, there may be 100K of us actually playing the game.
Another way would be to go through the 1000's of strands of code and remove all the old code from disabled events, cities, etc. that are no longer a part of the game but the coding is still there.
Now, I ask you this question... If as many people quit the game as I think there will be should Zynga not give back the fighting the way it was, and you do happen to be a big fighter account, which I doubt, who are you going to fight against? Oh wait! I just answered that question above! The e-ho's!
I seriously hope you have a grand time playing a shell of the game that MW used to be and enjoy it while you can because I'm afraid this will be the end of it when you lose the low to mid-range fighters.
Don't forget to buy those RP while they are on sale too because you're going to need them. ;)

  6. More like good riddance to Zynga....I quit playing a couple of weeks ago because of the moronic decision making going on there. They are more than happy to take my money while destroying the game I've played since 2008. Not another dime. Period. Forget the strike....make it a permanent move....Zynga could care less!! What does that tell you?

    1. I'm leaning more towards not coming back either. Having a nice relaxing week away and I probably won't want to go back. Why would anyone want to return to a JOB you hate, and MW is not even a good job. Itdoesn't even pay YOU, YOU pay to WORK at MW! How fucking stupid is that? lol MW is supposed to be FUN. When it becomes a second job that you have to pay to do and you hate what your employer is asking of you, to play carnage without complaint, why stay? You'd need your head checked if anyone else asked you to do something this crazy.

    2. Well...you're STILL in here, haha...complaining even though you quit a couple of weeks ago... why? HAHAHA...what does that tell Zynga about you? ;) Think about that for a second...

      Delete
    3. Are you laughing at your own comments? You really need to get a job to help the rest of us paying script users keep the game alive. Stop being a freeloader...lol

      Delete
    4. Zynga knows and allows scripts in this game. Think about that for a second...:P

    5. I'm not still in the game, I'm on this site and others sharing how disgusting zynga is, and they are not getting my money. I'm hoping at this point my complaints will get the game shut down. What will you troll about then? Think about that for a second. You'll be out of a job.

    6. And you are still here making goofy comments about script users ruining the game. I'm sure heavy script users will read your million posts and decide right then and there to start playing manually. Do you think it works like that in your reality? :P

    7. To the Zynga employee above: I'm here because I respect Jen and her blog. I want to see what happens to this game that has been destroyed. And to encourage pissed off long time players to go further than the strike.....cut off the money and leave for good! We will only consider returning if things go back to normal. But I really think that Zynga wants people to leave considering their tactics. Maybe another company can take MW over and allow it to be influenced by its long time loyal players....instead of this "studio" of idiots who have no clue.

    8. I think it tells us that Mafia Wars had some very good moments and we made some very good online friends. WE HAD FUN ! And now, we are sad to see the fun and friends going away. We hang on hoping for a better time. Eventually we will probably have to give up ...

  7. I don't understand why people are so angry... an online game like Mafia Wars is bound to experience change over time, new things will come and go and the stuff we love may or may not be permanent and can be taken away at any time, all you can do is adapt and be happy with what you have..

    1. The poor babies are mad because this change is affecting their illegal use of scripts to get them millions of ices while they sit and watch the scripts play... and they think they have all this power to influence Zynga into submitting to their demands... bully tactics, lol... turn off your scripts and start playing manually...and you will see that fight carnage isn't all that bad... but everyone here HATES the game so much they NEED scripts to play for them in auto... so why the hell play in the first place???? Real life not getting you enough "likes" or "pads on the shoulder"? That's sad... a game should never substitute real life... unplug and go outside... geeez

    2. Says the freeloader who makes the same comments on every post...:P

      Delete
    3. Why do you keep posting about scripts? No one is stopping using them because you post a diatribe about it. Take your own advice and go outside...

      Delete
    4. No one plays manually besides freeloaders...

      Delete
    5. It looks like the freeloaders have taken over this post...lmao

    6. I play manually and always have. No scripts. And I don't like the Carnage. But maybe you should unplug yourself from the game instead of complaining about those who really are unplugging themselves from the game.

  8. They changed the game and it's not fun anymore. No boohoo, it's just what Zynga did. Yes, it's their game and they can call it Toilet Wars if they want. A game by definition is supposed to be fun. If it's not then there is no point in playing.
I don't actually expect any action from Zynga over this strike but I don't care and won't play the game as it has become.

    1. Agree with you. Why pay for something you can't enjoy? Why spend time on a game you don't enjoy any more because it is unplayable?

I would sooner see the game close down than to see it stay with carnage fighting. If the community stood together on this then zynga would have had to have listened and changed it back, so all those people who are without a game to play in the new year, they can blame themselves along with zynga. If you don't like what they've done, then don't spend your money or time on it. Get off the train wreck now then sit back and enjoy watching all those people who told players angry about carnage to "quit bitchin and just play the game," start bitching because they have no game.

    2. Toilet Wars? How about Script Wars? Or Event Wars? I actually like Script Wars better... you're just pissed that your script is being affected so you can't make your usual 1,000,000 ices a day, lol... sorry, but I find it very hard to sympathize for you on that point.

Complaining and striking over your scripts are being ruined, haha... DUDE!!! You're not even supposed to USE scripts in the first place ;) Zynga has been trying to find a way to make life miserable for you guys for years and they finally have... and now all the fighters using scripts are crazy mad... AT ZYNGA, lol... be mad at yourself for being too lazy and too inept to play a simple online game without having to cheat.

I'm sure you loved to brag to your friends about all them cool ices you were getting, right? hahaha... well, welcome to the real world... The Matrix is shutting down... wither play the way the game was intended... or go play with your rubber duckies, and let the REAL gamers play ;)

      Delete
    3. REAL gamers pay money. Freeloaders sit around and find useless things to complain about. Guess we know which category you fall in..

    4. Never once did I say anything about script use or any affect it's had on any scripts. I actually don't rely on them at all. Clicking the fight button now is as much fun as flushing the toilet repeatedly and waiting for it to refill. The fact that different size stamina pools make hugely different sized attacks and for some players this is not acceptable.
Zynga themselves create events, like the current family business that can only be completed with family members using scripts. They are doing nothing to deal with script usage, they have embraced it.
If you are too thick to grasp what Fight Carnage has done to change the game then don't come here insulting others.

    5. Why does everyone above assume that all players use scripts? I find that incredibly insulting! I have been a VIP subscriber since Day One. I never used any scripts....playing since 2008. I liked to manually fight with drive-bys for the few easy ices to get rid of the health....then I used the remaining stamina for the Arena. That's right...I hid in the hospital for seven years! I was not a fighter at all. I only wanted the ices for the Urban Assault or other missions requiring ices. Once I could not complete the last Urban Assault (could not get any ices due to Carnage), I canceled the Diamond VIP and quit playing MW for good.

  9. Amazing how many people come to read MWLL and comment on articles posted here, who have stopped playing Mafia Wars and say they don't care, or that those that are still playing are suckers (ok, nobody's said suckers on this article yet, but I don't think it'd take long to find that sentiment on another post here).

I've been playing MW daily since the start, however many years ago that was. I've never paid Zynga a cent. OK, I'm Level 11k not 111k, but have I really enjoyed playing the game less than those who've sunk hundreds of dollars into it? Don't think so. And for me, Carnage is just the latest development as Zynga try to keep what must - by online gaming standards - be quite an antiquated game now. Carnage works fine for me, and I welcome it.

Now I just wish all these players who have quit or are on strike would stop fighting me in the 5 seconds between doing an LA job or one of the current operations, and banking the bucks. :)

  10. A noble effort... but 100% worthless in aspects of the game being changed. This strike can be compared to the game being taken hostage...and if the game developer doesn't comply with the hostage takers demands... the hostage takers will kill the game (or in this case, quit) IF the game developers gave in to the demands... what's to say new demands wouldn't be put forward the next day by another group? Or a third set of demands in a week by a third group? See where it would go? So as noble as this idea might be... my best solutions are.

    1) if you are unhappy with the game you can either quit and take your life back...
    2) Accept the fact that Zynga doesn't care about you as a gamer... but only what you spend and adapt...

Even if Zynga only cares about your money, quitting VIPs, stopping spending RPs for a week etc, will not make them change a thing... at worst, if they find the game is not making enough money, they will just announce a shut down - and where would that leave us? So, a strike is pointless unless it helps...and in this case... it doesn't help.

    1. "Even if Zynga only cares about your money, quitting VIPs, stopping spending RPs for a week etc, will not make them change a thing... "

Who said anyone was quitting VIP and stopping payment for RPs for a week? Most of those who have dumped VIP because of carnage probably have no plans to sign up again and wait for the next stupid thing zynga does to drastically alter the game. Ask those who dropped their VIP because of loading issues if they've gone back to spending. I'd be surprised if even one person has signed up again.

What is the point of even having a game, if not all players can play it? I'd sooner see it dead than to see it like this and if my lack of spending in any way contributes to its sudden demise, then all the better.

  11. If the players really want to make a point instead of a strike that will only hurt their game why not drop VIP for a month and not buy rp's. Hit THEM where it hurts....the wallet. DaBoopsta!

  12. man that new(ish) fighting system is junk. drop VIP. stop paying them for producing this kind of crap!
