Rioting 7 Day Deal Coming Soon

Share:

The next 7 Day Deal has a rioting theme to it. I guess with all the rioting over recent actions resulting in violent riots in the United States, Zynga thought it would be a nice theme to sell loot items. In 2012 I recall they removed the Bulletproof Hoodie from the inventory after similar riots took place [1].  The 7 items are shown below.

  2. Come on... how many items would have to be removed if they offended someone or something or even slightly suggested some sort of "support" - it's a game... I am sure Zynga don't condone or accept or even support riots ANYWHERE in the world... could we please remind ourselves that MW is a game? And not let it be controlled by real life events? We have been over this a few times in the past... if we let our games be controlled by real life and politically correctness... MW wouldn't even exist... Mafia Wars?? Really? So... Zynga is saying Mafia and Wars are okay?? With all the wars around the world... shouldn't they rename the game to Mafia Conflicts? Or Mafia Trouble? And what about the word Mafia?? Is that "politically correct"? Isn't the mafia a bad thing? See where I am going? If someone can't distinguish a boring game from reality... maybe it's time to NOT play anymore... taking things too far is not healthy... these items are all Mafia related items... so, they are fitting the game just fine

    1. It's just my opinion that the timing is in bad taste. Why celebrate something that relates to real people in the world (not fictional events) being killed. Give as many reasons as you like to not agree with me. I didn't say anything that strong about it just that they are using disturbing events in the real world to sell a product. This is a fact so it really can't be argued. Agree or disagree, it doesn't change what it is.

  3. LOL... now releasing a 7-day loot event is a celebration?? Oh my... since when is releasing events a celebration? And yes... it can CERTAINLY be argued... like I said... I hardly think that Zynga executives called a meeting and discussed what current horrible real life events they can make a buck on and then deciding to celebrate riots and killings around the world be releasing a 7-day loot event with Mafia themed loot items... That would make every gun released in the game a celebration to The NRA? With all the guns killing innocent people... and Zynga releasing guns in the game - well, must be a celebration of The NRA... how come you are not pointing THAT out? Let's remove ALL guns in the game... and vehicles that resembles anything used in real life wars and riots... or are you pro NRA and guns and vehicles used in wars?

I enjoy reading this blog, but once in awhile I think you're losing your marbles... if we turn a fictive game into a political thing about real life issues... the game will die out... and EVERYONE will get offended in one way or another... that's all I am saying... unless you have proof that zynga released this event in celebration of killings, slayings and riots around the world by selling these loot items to make money on innocent lives lost in killings... you are WAY out of line accusing them of this... or even suggesting that this is what they are doing... but, it's your blog and your life... so, peace be with it... I'm just saying... easy now tiger... it's JUST a game... never mix real life with a silly game...

  4. And even the name Wars in Mafia Wars suggests that Zynga condone wars... I don't see you making any fuzz about that... does this mean that YOU too condone wars and celebrate wars and the deaths of millions around the globe?? Where is the line? If we start doing this... it will get out of control at some point... that's why we don't mix games with real life... they are 2 completely different things...

    1. Get over it, obviously it bothers you more than me. All I said is the timing is in poor taste and you aren't going to change my mind or my opinion. I let your points be heard and we get it so making more and more comments obsessing over it isn't going to change my mind or those who also think it's in poor taste and your arguments go way beyond to make everything ridiculous. Bottom line this is in poor taste. They wouldn't have removed the other loot item mentioned if someone up there didn't realize it was inappropriate due to the timing. You are correct that games need to stay games so there is no sense in having events or sales that are connected to real life events.

    2. But almost everything in this game is connected to real life... the word "Wars" in Mafia Wars... every single gun in the game could potentially celebrate shootings everywhere... that's my point... where does the madness begin and where does it stop? That's why, hopefully, most people are able to distinct a game feature from real life... but apparently not all are able to do that.

but sure... for peace sake, I'll get over it ;) I just hope everyone else is bit more clever and can see this as what it is... a fictive event NOT related to anything. We can relate almost anything in this game to a real life issue... why aren't you even addressing that point? But clearly THIS offends you... and it is your blog... have a great weekend
