The much anticipated (sarcasm) Family Siege feature is now available. At first look, it seems rather ridiculous. Anything needing an in game tutorial and multiple pages of instructions is just too confusing for this kind of a game. Zynga needs to follow the KISS principle if they want to get their players excited. We already have a feature like this called robbing Family Properties and nobody really uses it. The gist of this feature is to defend your Family Headquarters and attack another family's Headquarters for Family Experience and substandard loot. You can attack and defend with energy or stamina and the ratios are shown below. The loot rewards aren't all that and even include some of the useless items we are already getting from Arenas and Wars. There are 10 new items but the stats aren't very desirable. Use the link below to read the FAQ to get the details. The new loot rewards are also shown below. As we learn more about the feature and strategies and when scripts become available we will update you.
Attack Ratios: Energy-2.2411 Stamina-2.249
Defense Ratios: Energy-2.226 Stamina-2.233
New Reward Items
What I'd be really interested in knowing is how much loot score boost could we get now.
ReplyDeleteWe have the regular family properties + the score boost for this HQ defending things.
Then there is bonuses from family perks
Then VIP black diamond alone has 20K each way. Gotta be going on for about 100K bonus each way with all this included. All them bonuses stacked in full could really make a difference to the outcome of a fight.
Once the shield is at 100% our total mafia attack bonuses for att/def will be at 47,000 (if you're full VIP) - not quite close to the 100,000 you mention - yet ;)
DeleteJust done the maths it's gotta be more than that.
DeleteFamily properties are 10K then siege is 5K Then you can get another 2K if you combine all family perks to level 14. Then you have all the VIP levels of which elite black is 20K alone.
1K+1.5K+2K+3K+4K+5K+6K+7.5K+20K
67K. I was a little off on the 100K thing but it's still seriously getting on for it though. So basically the reason I got 20K more was adding Elite black on which aint been opened up yet.
If they decide to add another VIP tier it's probably gonna top at least gotta match the 12.5K jump between the 7.5K in diamond and 20K in elite black. Even 30K on the next tier would take it to 97K so basically one more tier will do it.
I am FULL VIP (will be Elite Black in 1 month) and my total mafia attack and defense is currently 47,000 - not sure how you're calculating all that :/
DeleteI get to 67,000 too,but that's taking the 20,000 from Elite Black into account... 47,000 now + 20,000 in October = 67,000 so yes... IF we see another tier...and it adds 30,000, we will reach 97,000... but currently...we have 47,000 + 20,000 from Elite Black...
DeleteLooks to me as another feature to ignore :-)
ReplyDeleteMajor Bug!!! Saying "failed to defend", when only small attack & defended
ReplyDeleteMy family will just sit on anyone who attacks our properties. That's how we respond to people who delight in playing with these idiot useless game features.
ReplyDeleteIdiot!
DeleteFar from it. This is why no one is stupid enough to rob properties any more. It caused wars. This feature is no different and we will treat it no differently, so you can go do one.
DeletePost it with your profile and our family will sit on you ;)
DeleteWe like to war, and stealing mafia strength away from a family is as good a reason to start one as any. I'm sure we'll find you.
DeleteWho are you going to war with? There are like 10 people still playing...lmao
DeleteYou fighters must be pissed that all those thousands of dollars spent mean nothing now..
DeleteIt's odd how Zynga hates scripts so much, and keeps bringing out events like Siege and Urban Assault that beg for them. Yes, siege loot is useless [they could fix that in an hour or less] but I can use my Stamina to level up and go back to doing jobs. So I'm Ok with this event.
ReplyDeleteThe only issue with it is when attacking a protected HQ the XP ratio dips way way down. When it's on regular health I can serial level with this no issues but can't even come close attacking it's shield.
DeleteThe loot stats are p[pathetic. On the upside this is a great way to expend large amounts of stamina and energy quickly. The experience ratios for energy/stamina use seem decent, unlike the carnage crap.
ReplyDeleteI get to click my mouse, whooo hooo !
ReplyDeleteAt least the ratios are nice
ReplyDeleteI just loved your first sentence. "The much anticipated (sarcasm) Family Siege feature is now available." Thx for the laugh lol ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd No way of knowing if a family is attacking yours ?How can you defend if you don't know your HQ is under seige? They could explain this a bit better
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Nothing was said about it on there FAQ and seeing as I've not heard of any families getting attacked at all and of the 8 we attacked and won today not a single member of all 8 families did a damn single thing to ever stop us not once and not like we are a big family or a fight group at all either just a small group who do what we can do and we had no resistance it makes me wonder if the defending system is online properly yet. Or even at all for that matter.
DeleteAnother Zynga fail!
ReplyDeleteSo we've been asking Zynga to get rid of the Declare War feature because it means absolutely nothing, but instead they give us the family version of the same shit. You can't really pick what family you attack and when you get done, you get more worthless loot. The only real benefit of it is that you get good Experience from it (2.25 with stamina, 2.24 with Energy). So Zynga has taken a fighting game into some other POS game that means nothing now.
ReplyDeleteT'would be nice if you'd refrain from disdain
ReplyDeleteFor't t'would be nice if they made a game worth playin'
but, alas it is plain
that it just ain't worth playin
just sayin
thoust cannot all be Dungeons 'n Dragons.
DeleteThis is zynga's answer to getting all the kami's and self levelers OUT of the fightlist and I think it's a good move. Only thing I dont like is the requirement of keeping ur own HQ at least at 25%.. that's their RP leech tactic for this feature.
ReplyDeleteSO it is a quick way to get some easy xp using energy and stamina while not going through the cities and building up to max levels, because building up to max levels in cities is not worth the trouble, especially with challenge missions needing farmed stuff to complete.
ReplyDeleteSo the siege is great IMO for 1 thing: You just leveled up. Go attack a family, which takes about 30 secs. of time to destroy that HQ and you get some decent rewards, quick xp, and then move on.
This is just fine with me. Beats doing the fighting Zynga just screwed us with.
HA and the ratio's already been nerf'd down to 2.15
ReplyDeleteFAIL
is there a way to opt out or limit who starts the fights??
ReplyDeleteThis feature seems to be geared more towards clans who operate 24-7. We are wee and will have a very tough time maintaining full health and defence. It is a great way to expend energy and stamina, though, so for that reason my feelings toward it are neutral. I do think that attacking other clan's buildings will cause trouble, so be careful, and if you are presented with a family you know who loves to war, and you don't like to war, it is best to skip :)
