The Urban Assault Task Reduction Fail

Share:

UPDATE: According to the players who commented on this post, the tasks that should be reduced are just added to the running totals. This isn't a good way to do it as it's hard to track unless you are fully aware of how many tasks you have already done. Zynga should explain this in the instructions or fix it so that we actually see a reduction.

The current version of the Urban Assault Missions comes with a subtle nerf. The special ability of the mastery item was taken away and in it's place is a bonus that should (emphasis on the word should) reduce the number of tasks. I assumed it worked but double checked after reading a comment about it not working. Players are allowed to choose which category they would like the reduction in. According to the instructions, you get a 10% reduction for the Assignment Target and a 15% reduction in the Street-Wise Target. I chose Stamina for the Assignment Target and Energy for the Street-Wise Target. As you will see with the screen shots below, it doesn't work and the number of remaining tasks stayed the same. Please let us know what you see on your accounts. I'm thinking Zynga either didn't explain it right in the instructions or it just plain doesn't work. Thanks to Ken Saunders for pointing this out. I had assumed it worked because of the odd number of tasks and I didn't double check like I should have.

  1. It works but doesn't work correctly. If adds in completed tasks for the lowest level achieved on the task, not reduce as they say. So in the example 10% of 88 is 9, so it added in 9 completed tasks when it should have added in 29 (10% of 288). Typical Zynga shoddy programming and if you are almost done when you get to that point, totally useless!

  2. Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense and it's nothing anyone would check. They should word it better.

  5. Hmm. So they gave us a $10 gift card for a single purchase instead of the %10-off storewide promotion code.

  7. It doesn't look like you can pick, but if you click on the other side it will switch to it. The option is there.

  8. It looks like its working for me, it gives an reduction on the tasks that I have pending and by that I mean all tasks I have open. On the stations it gives reduction on the level I'm working on and not the whole thing.

  9. Worked for me as well, but with the second one, I didnt have any stamina tasks left so it forced me to energy.

  11. I don't have any trouble reaching Stamina goals, so I chose energy both times.

Either it gave me 15% of the lowest rank on stuff I was already most of the way to the second rank on, or it only gave me 5% (the difference between the 10% & 15% of the two bonuses).

On the station directly above the target, I went from 42/50 to 48/50, on what was supposed to be 15%.
