Lions, Tigers & Chairs?

Share:

When it comes to the news feeds, if it's not one thing it's another. The latest and greatest attempt by Facebook to stop all these spammers they are so concerned about is just ridiculous [1]. For whatever reason, Facebook feels the Lucky Break requests are 'unsafe'. To make it worse, passing the security check isn't as easy as it appears. To quote Martin, the logical one from Team Spockholm, "Either I don't know what a tiger looks like, or FB security check is not working as intended" pretty much sums it up. To make it even worse, if you can't pass the security check, the only way to get back to the game is to refresh (and we all know what happens with that). Since we are so accustomed to news feed issues, this one is actually hilarious. Zynga better hope this is resolved by the time they release the next Extortion Run or Limited Time Property. If that happens there won't be a whole lot of laughing!

 LIONS, TIGERS & CHAIRS?
OH MY!

  1. This would be pathetic if it wasn't so laughable.
I don't think theFB guys know the difference between a lion & a tiger, but instead pick up random images via google or similar that have been tagged. I CAN tell the difference between a lion and a tiger (and a cheetah) but you may be surprised how many pictures are incorrectly labelled.

  4. Well apparently I cannot differentiate between a guitar and a wristwatch! I'm not even going to wonder how I got the fireworks wrong....or the waterfalls....or the lions....

  5. I gave up after a number of tries on the pictures and later when I got the captcha I just logged off since my sand script is rusty...

  6. after telling it 'fuck off' repeatedly in captcha's it says there was an error and I was actually able to return to the game.

  7. Yep... This whole FB security thing is stupid and yet scary.. Makes you wonder if they know the difference between a REAL security breach since FB can't get it right on the common sense pics. No worries... Once FB gets enough members dropping out of Mafia Wars, Mark Z. will lay claim, "We decided to reduce the number of players in Mafia Wars so these ex-members will now have more time to serve our (Facebook's International) interests." ...

  8. It's another scheme for FB and Zynga to determine how many players have switched to a POD instead of using the FB interface. POD users won't get the security check, so Zynga will now know how many of its members are using scripts to stay up with the game. AND FB will know how many people will be switching to a POD once they get out of FB jail. Either way, its a plan for MW to go away. IMHO

  9. What I find to be scary is all these MW members that are being "blocked" by FB do not have a way to truly appeal the actions performed by FB - NO phone number, NO email, NO response from FB - the 'appeal' is ignored. Everyone's attitude seems to be "well, it isn't happening to me, so I am not going to get involved" and the comment received by the individual blocked is: "See you when you get out of FB jail" like it is a joke. FB is creating situations for MW players (paying as well as non-paying) not to be able to participate in Zynga sponsored activities, group activities, or even to interact with their own clan activities. Who is going to battle for those of us when we are BLOCKED?

  10. I just posted the Property Upgrade, and got the "cats, lions, tigers and chairs" and finally a captcha, before I could get back into the game. Ugh.
